    Women's World Cup 2019

I think this tournament has been mch like the men's - we've not really played well but a decent draw has helped us progress. We looked a bit overawed at the start and were lucky not to concede more before the equaliser. We're clearly the inferior team in this game.

    Pre season

I ask because if he's training while it's going on I think it makes it more likely he'll be fined. If he's absent it suggests he's having his contract ripped up.

    Lee Burge

Of course it's a collective effort, but let's not forget there were also times when defenders and midfielders gave the ball away through poor passing that left Burge exposed and he dug them out of a hole with a save. Burge had a lot of faults but I really don't get this need to make him the...

    Pre season

Does anyone know if Hickman has been training or is he 'suspended' while the investigation into his conduct is concluded?

    Lee Burge

Why isn't missing a chance 'fundamental' but catching a ball apparently is? The outfield players spend every day training just like the keepers do so why do they get more leeway? For me, missing a one-on-one is just as fundamental as catching a cross. I know I'd back myself to score a one-on-one...

    Kit launch at Coombe Abbey

Those Christ train seats are a killer - just a bit wood - and no seatbelt - they nail you to it. Bu they do give you complimentary wine and a cracker which is something.

    Lee Burge

What about the times Burge made good saves that gained us points because the strikers hadn't put their chances away? Towards the end of the season it was more likely that Burge would cost us points but earlier on he was responsible for us gaining quite a few.

Not putting the ball in the net did cost us quite a lot of points last year. Games we should have won comfortably we didn't due to poor finishing. Luke Thomas alone could have had 20 last season if he was a clinical finisher. 15 if he was half decent. That's not to say that Burge errors (along...

    Who's this keeper?

My money's on Bilson as well, but I didn't realise he'd been kept on from last years academy. Only Burroughs and N'Gandu (who's still technically a scholar) were mentioned as having signed pro deals. It's not Tyler or Fallowes

    Transfer Rumour Jamie Allen signs

Bosma hasn't left (he's in at least one of the pics for pre-season training GALLERY: Pre-Season Training - Day Three sixth picture, left hand side). Robins has said he's looking to move him on and would undoubtedly release him if he got somewhere else, but at the moment he's still here. I...

    Stupid questions.

I remember Donna Airhead once asked The Corrs how they met.

    Maddison to Man Utd?

Kind of. It was more like one of those residents association newsletter things - about 8 pages of school 'news' and filler from students to pad it out. Always had a section on the sports with the players getting regular name checks, as well as mention in stuff like assemblies and school notices.

What Sporting Event Would You Choose ?

I know - that's why I found it fascinating. Like watching a 5-4 footy game. 1st innings Sat was just crazy, Boston 1st innings Sun the same (3HR in a row) then the 7th for Yankees was just one of the strangest things ever. By the time BRS scored 4 in the 8th you were almost immune to the...

    Maddison to Man Utd?

I seem to remember from school that a few of those that were good at sport were full of themselves - I think a lot of the time because they were the ones constantly getting in the school paper etc and getting loads of attention, esp from the girls. I guess when you're at a point when you're just...

What Sporting Event Would You Choose ?

Did you go to the London games? Some of it was truly bizarre, but really interesting to watch. Don't know if there's something about between 6-7pm like the light levels at the stadium but fielding totally went to pot in both games around that time. 3 out of 4 starting pitchers not lasting an...

    Transfer Rumour Jamie Allen signs

Not overly familiar with the lad but the stats and comments suggest he's an improvement on Shipley (who I had as starting next to Kelly) so him and Kelly together should be a solid foundation in the middle. i'm genuinely excited at this point, especially with a better playing surface, and while...

What is going on with the Tory leadership contest?

A thing with the accounting of the NHS is that many of the economic benefits aren't seen directly and so while a lot of money is spent on it, very little is attributed to it. Treatment of health problems and disease allowing people to return to work quicker, thus generating income and taxes as...

What is going on with the Tory leadership contest?

I also see in an interview Hunt has said the next PM needs to be 'trustworthy' and 'personality' is key to getting Brexit done. I don't think there's many people at all that consider Hunt trustworthy (maybe more so than Boris but in the same way I'd rather be put in an enclosure with a lion than...

    Women's World Cup 2019

I've said this a few times now but with the accidental/deliberate thing it can be so open to opinion. There are loads of penalties given even before VAR which I felt were not deliberate but were given. And even then what if its not deliberate but stops a clear chance/goal? Surely that deserves...
