    U23 v Hull

Is it going to be two up top or Biamou playing as a 10? Seems a slightly odd choice if the latter.

First class cricket does seem to have become an afterthought and the chance for many of them to 'keep their eye in' or gain confidence at county level is non-existent as with ODI/iT20 on top of the odd test match means it's pretty much always on the go.

    Hiwula’s movement (or lack off)

Depends on if he's willing to become more of an impact sub/bit part player at that level. But let's not get ahead of ourselves just yet - we all know Lady Luck tends to like crocking our most important players sooner or later in a season - we've already got Kelly out for a bit and Allen has...

Match Thread Burton Albion vs. Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 14th Sep

I'd happily go unchanged, but if Mason is fit I'd bring him back in and Hyam to come in if Rose is out. O'Hare is having a great impact off the bench so for the time being leave that as is. Having him, Allen and Kastaneer on the bench is an exciting thought.

    First choice midfield

Why are we having this discussion? I was of the impression by some that we're still desperately in need of a CM because we lack strength in depth and have a small squad? That with a fully fit squad Westbrooke and maybe Shipley might even miss out on being in the 16 is beside the point. That's...

Nope, but it sure is frustrating. The biggest barrier to governance is politics and those wishing to be politicians are often those least suited to it.

I guess our current catchment area would largely be Warwickshire. Just maybe Solihull who would probably be more likely to follow a Brum team.

We sort of conspired to lose this series ourselves. Poor selections or positioning in the team order. Aussies have been better but Smith has been the difference between the two. Said at the start it would be Smith v Root - whoever batted best would be on the winning side. Smith was free of the...

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

If we could get some names we could scout them for the ACM position. - could prove useful.

    Would JCH have fitted in

I'm not sure JCH would've fitted in to this squad. Ability wise he'd add something different and improve on what we have, but he seems to be a player that needs to feel the love and have the game played to suit his style - if it isn't he quickly loses heart and is a shadow of the player he can...

    Would JCH have fitted in

Hope he has another one before we play them next - might give him some tummy troubles.

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

Of course not. It's dependent on an individual and their experiences and knowledge. I will know more about some things than them, they'll know more about other things. Similarly there will be people younger than me that know more about some stuff and less about others. What those things are will...

This is a bit different in that they got a big score rather than skittling us out cheaply. They'd been bowling for some time. But personally even if I was a bit tired as a bowler I'd be wanting to keep on at them - no respite.

Got to be happy with the fighting spirit and never say die attitude the team have shown thus far, and we've not once played our best XI. Really liked Godden's goal - looked to be chasing a lost cause with two defenders and his instinct got him a half chance that he buried. Altered the outlook of...

It's really good we've got a keeper like this, but if Burge had let that first one he'd be getting no end of grief from some on here.

    Matty godden

I thought we might have paid over the odds for him when he signed-it look like I was wrong. To get him for less than we sold Chaplin (if estimates on fees are to be believed) seems like a fantastic bit of wheeler-dealing. And to think he wasn't apparently first choice.

Best start to a league season in 26 years

One really good thing is the belief that even when we're behind we've got the confidence at the moment to come back into it. So many times in previous seasons games like today and Portsmouth would've been all over and we'd have almost gone into damage limitation mode and just tried not to...

    England cricket 2019

I get that point, but there are a couple of times where teams have done this and then failed to win because the other team has managed to bat out the game. I think Aus actually lost one doing this a few years ago. I understand the point on bowlers being tired and wanting to rest them, but I'm...
