That sounds like a nightmare train journey. The other place she used to mention a lot I liked was Newtownards

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

I'm quite happy to be a 'Chuka' voter. I've voted Tory, Labour, LD, Green and Ind in various elections over the years. I look at the policies and manifestos and vote according to who's I believe in the most. As someone who says they have independent thought I'd assume you'd do the same wouldn't you?

Stranraer is a bit awkward isn't it for a bridge. For a tunnel maybe but not a bridge. Always reminds of my nan because she's talk about getting the ferry to Stranraer in her broad N.Irish accent. Best sentence ever in N.Irish accent is "Finaghy to Stranraer to buy the Mirror"

    Max Chomping at the bit

Backroom - everyone is entitled to have an opinion on the plaers - it's why we're here - but you just seem to enjoy being particularly derogatory about Biamou almost to the point of being nasty. So maybe then people come back a bit stronger the other way as a defence. It's arguably not what you...

Try to break the impasse. I admit chances of them doing it are low, but it'd reflect better on them with the public if they kept trying that just stop parliament. How they'd do that I don't know - seems like Boris' only remaining option as you say is another rehashed WA (despite not having a lot...

You would expect them to 'cash in' on their positions in the weeks and months following Brexit to realise their gains. They would then be buying struggling businesses or providing loans to 'help' so they can profit there, whilst also changing their position in the markets to benefit from any...

Transfer Rumour August Manager of the Month

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I've always felt August motm tended to be won by the team at the top of the table end of August. It's the one time of year you can pretty much guarantee league table and form table will match.

I'm afraid I don't understand your point. The point is that parliament would have been closed for three weeks at this time anyway for conferences, just a few weeks before the deadline. This is vital time that could be used for parliament to debate, prepare and try to pass legislation in...

    A Different Coventry

I wouldn't like to get an Allen's taxi to the Samartians - be a bit costly I reckon ;)

It does seem surprising that any of the parties would think that conference season is more important than dealing with this issue. Doesn't reflect well on any of them - seems the politics is more important than the governing.

Whether it is worst case scenario or most likely scenario is up for debate. There are those that claim to have seen the same report as most likely scenario and the title has been changed (It's all a bit 'In The Loop'). It could be that they've reassessed but it would be incredible if the exact...

    Arise Sir Geoffrey Boycott

He'd be even more critical of that! "That's not how you 'knight' someone! Straight bat woman! All you're doing there is nicking it straight to 1st courtier. And the off-stump of your throne's exposed. Your corgi could do better than that. And while you're at it get yourself a proper dog - a...

    Arise Sir Geoffrey Boycott

All this prob not good for him after his heart op. Plus when he goes to accept the accolade he'll complain about the Queen's sword handling. "You don't hold a sword like that love. Bloody rubbish!"

    England cricket 2019

Just seems a tiny bit harsh after only being given the one test in which all of he bowlers returned quite poor figures. Pretty much the entire batting line-up shouldn't be there on those grounds. I admit I do think Curran and Woakes are better overall so I like them in the team (esp Curran on...

Yes they migrate more to centre/right but that is often because circumstances and responsibilities necessitates it rather than change of belief. It's selfishness, but for non-selfish reasons because they wish to protect their loved ones. Just as you say 'old pot head' never had to grow up the...

I agree. The thing with the education/political leaning bias was that the general trend shows as levels of education goes up the likelihood of voting to the left increases. It's not saying that every higher educated person will vote left, nor that all poorly educated people vote right (inner...

I agree we need to move on, but the reality is that is largely what it'll come down to - a personality battle between Alexander and Corbyn. Absolute chalk and cheese. One will get on the nerves of one side of the political divide, the other will annoy the other side
