Genius. Sell the weed out the back, they get the munchies and buy chips as well. Mind you there's quite a few businesses around that I think are just front for other activities and are just essentially devices for laundering money.

You seemed obsessed with people running chip shops lately - the lockdown affecting your diet? And no I'm not one of those advisor idiots - I did accounts for various types of business at a couple of practices for a fair few years. I assume you didn't mean to end that first sentence in a...

I wasn't claiming any such thing. As I said if this business you're talking about had more liquidity and wasn't taking dividends and so was being run prudently in comparison to others and looking to grow the business yet are still massively at risk it highlights how bad the problem is. As I...

I agree about the difference about what's between you BUT high density areas tend to involve high-rises. These have shared spaces to enter/exit the building used by many people. So even if your not in the hallway/staircase at the same time if someone has breathed/coughed/sneezed and the pathogen...

Dunno, but could suit us given how we play.

I did this for a living for over a decade. We turned a huge amount of sole traders/partnerships into ltd's due to the tax advantages at the time (since closed). As the owners(shareholders) were usually also the directors (as I assume is the case here) they'd often pay themselves a 'bonus' at...

Private limited companies still can (and often do) pay dividends to it's shareholders. Plus if that one has large cash reserves compared to others doesn't it just highlight the problem.

Well, perhaps a start would be to retain more cash in the businesses rather than massive dividend payouts to the very rich shareholders that do fuck all except own a piece of paper. Thus reducing the need for the higher debt and reducing pressure from interest payments?

By the looks of it he says the metric used for pop density is number of major dense urban areas. I find this flawed. What if you have a large percentage of your population living quite rurally with one or two absolutely heaving metroplii? Of course there will be no correlation. For that it...

    New Labour Leader

But if the private sector do run it more 'efficiently' (usually meaning cut corners to cut costs and thus a poorer service) then the cost savings are lost to private sector profits. So instead of a better health service you get richer rich people. If it's NFP then that could be fine. But it...

Trump is my favourite comedian of the year already

But I think there's probably a fair few who are also glad of it. Unfortunately when Trump throws his toys out of the pram and stops funding etc reaching the states in a hissy fit it's the state that will suffer, and then Trump and his cronies will say look at how bad they did in combating it...

He didn't ask that. He asked if you'd had the money through yet, which by your failure to address the question is......no, you haven't. Although I expect you'll be the first to receive it as you've been given special access to apply before the system is even fully set-up.

By asking how I think you're going to respond....and thus sidestepping you saying that ICU staff didn't need face masks. But should you actually try and answer the question as to why they don't need facemasks I've got excuse/reason No.1 in mind. And no I'm not revealing any clues.

It'd be great if we didn't, but I'm prepared for the likelihood we will. It would be good to start seeing the figures start to decline soon, but I think we've still got a little way to go yet unfortunately.

Yesterday you used a single person (Chris Smith) to suggest PPE equipment wasn't effective. And that you took massively out of context as he was talking specifically about the general public, not frontline NHS staff.

People have been furloughed. Getting the money from the scheme is a totally different matter. That can't be known until it actually happens.

Well let us know when you actually receive the money back off the government. A month ago people were confident there'd be no problem with Covid19. As with anything in politics, you believe it when it happens, not when they say it will happen.

    Who’s at work/Not at work?

I've not really looked at the scheme but I do have some questions. Firstly, how can you 'know' all those using the scheme will be re-imbursed? That can only be confirmed when the money is actually received from the government and it's not like governments before have made promises and then not...
