Not a chance of that really. Last season we averaged 12K and only dipped below 10K once. For the first home game of the season it would take something very weird to happen to go to 7900 home fans. 11K I'd say. Fancy a win too.

    Chris Anderson speaks..

The frustrating thing is that this was predicted, people were warning this would happen. When they announced the t/o would be manned by up to 5 people it was obvious they could not possibly handle the walk-up for a cup game where many people would choose to pay on the night. Everything is so...

    Portsmouth Highlights

I don't think they saw it. I know stats don't always tell the full story, but I think they did last night. Far more possession, 25 efforts on goal to their 12, far more of those on target, 13 corners to their 4. Ah well, it doesn't really matter but that did wind me up a bit!

    Portsmouth Highlights

Have you seen that match summary under the video? Nonsense. Unlikely to score until Haynes scored? We'd missed about 4 sitters and up until then and were all over them at that point. Even in the first half we created the better openings. RCC didn't have much to do all night.

Seriously? Those two were at the heart of everything second half. To dismiss Jone's performance as simply 'lively' does him a great disservice. Yes, he'll lose the ball on occasions in advanced positions - but that's his game. Much rather he ran at people and took risks then play it...

There was a 10.30 train. They no longer suspend the scheduled trains when games are on I believe.

That's about right for me. Some really encouraging performances. Stevenson and Vlad excellent. Haynes best game for some time. Reid and Jones made a real impact. Perhaps Reid deserved higher. Impressed with Harries too.

I know I'll get shouted at but queue now round back of exhibition hall. Some people turning up and going home.

No issue with that. Just find it weird how there are some people who criticise the club for literally everything, and then there are those that will criticise them for nothing. They do make mistakes and no harm poin ting that out from time to time. Ah well, I'm sure we'll get over it! Bigger...

Mo Most of the pompey squad were there. Just coming out of hotel. Doyle was there too.

I'm sure they will. Fine if arriving late means massive queues, don't arrive late. However, club have been saying don't worry about POTG, there's a massive match day ticket operation, there will be no issues. Well, just seen that and it is a shambles. Not going to cry about it, but some will...

Just seen Carl Baker in The Mill, chatting to city fans, wishing the club well etc. Pity you weren't here, ideal opportunity for you to have snapped his legs.

I've just waited 20 mins in queue. Fine, I got tickets late so can't complain that much. In half hour they'll be big queues. Should that really be the case for a 4000 gate? There's moaning and there is being critical where it is warranted.

Ticketmaster / Pay on the Gate

If each one of them were to sell a ticket each every 30 seconds they would shift 600 in the hour before kick-off. They could probably about handle a walk-up of 1000 tonight without there being any significant issues. I expect it will be more than that. Could be wrong though.

Ticketmaster / Pay on the Gate

Not really. People complained about the online system - the fact you couldn't use it on tablets and that it would crash during hight demand. This HAS been fixed by the switch - but at the same time they have done that, they have stopped selling tickets at Arena Park, they have scaled back the...

Ticketmaster / Pay on the Gate

No, centre blocks are £27. Standard premium is £25, standard is £23. The cheapest adult ticket (excluding the family section) is £23. That makes us one of the most expensive in the league. Last season it was £18 anywhere in the ground if bought online, £20 if not.

    Fans

Heard very little negative stuff Saturday. One or two silly shouts from individuals, but nothing collective. Team were actually clapped off. Can't see what people are going on about. What's the point getting all precious because one idiot called Haynes a useless ginger prick - he's not as...

    Season tickets?

I think most weeks it will be fine, they'll be able to handle the walk-up if the operation has been expanded. Tomorrow I think they'll have a problem. A cup game where most ST holders haven't bothered to reserve their seat. If 3000 turn up from 6.30 to 7.30 (and people tend to arrive late for...

Nobody is crying about it from what I can see. I walk to the game anyway so doesn't effect me. It's just a pity these increases are being applied against the club's wishes. Would be good to get the train service running.

Match Thread Coventry v Portsmouth Match Thread - Tuesday 9th Aug

Don't think so, I think it was caused by the fact they ran out of tickets on the turnstiles a few times and they took the money without issuing a ticket - but that doesn't mean the money was being pocketed. They would still have to check the money collected against the turnstile count - so this...
