So wouldn't each team in the higher league had course for legal action because next seasons money is having to be split between more teams? They've probably got players on longer contracts based on the revenue being split between the normal amount of teams.

It wouldn't necessarily be about ending the season, but promotion/relegation issues, and if they do or don't do it there will be complaints. With no actual rule to enforce their decision and it being made up on the fly legally it's got more holes than swiss cheese. Then there's the other side...

While I get the point that smaller clubs won't have as many supporters and thus lower income from ifollow etc, I fail to see how this is any different from normal. Larger clubs get bigger crowds through the turnstiles. So their income from matches will be reduced, but so will that of every...

The only way I can see this being agreed is if the entire season is BCD so no gate revenue. But even then if each club has things like ifollow then the clubs with more fans will be losing out. Plus what if you've got a long term project with players on multi-year deals and they already go...

Didn't say a rebate was additional 'income', it could improve their cashflow situation slightly. And cashflow is the vital thing.

But they normally are above the VAT threshold, are registered for VAT and thus are required to submit returns. However, little income but still outgoings means high likelihood of VAT rebates in the short term.
