LAtest lagal action (that can't be halted)

I believe as long as the case is filed while still a member it will still be binding. Hence why it was filed when it was, as the UK were due to leave the EU a few weeks later so they had to get it in.

    Women's World Cup 2019

US is based on money. Club owners say we pay the wages so we're not releasing the players and players don't want to risk injury and jeopardise their earning potential. So as it becomes more popular - more money to be made - less likely the best players will be released/want to play. USA very...

    VAR

As I said in the rule change thread, only way around it is to give every single ball that hits the arm, but none of them result in a penalty, only an indirect fre-kick. Deliberate to stop a goal(scoring chance) is a red card to ensure blatant cheating is punished appropriately.

It can't be long before we'll be forced to change our name to Coventry Wanderers.

What is going on with the Tory leadership contest?

For a party with a hardcore stance on drugs they seem to be quite fond of them. But to want that job you'd have to be off your tits. So who's next and what've they taken? Andrea Leadsom to claim, as a mother, she's a heroine then to clarify says she took heroin and dropped an E? Sajid...

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

As I said Labour (and the Tories) need to take heed of this. Their loss of percentage of the votes should be very worrying to them. But Peterboro was a very strongly pro-leave area. In the EU elections Brexit polled over twice as many votes as their nearest rival. They're currently on the crest...

    St Andrews confirmed!

I've not seen anything that says the rest of the agreement they'd negotiated had been or tried to be altered, just the introduction of the indemnity clause after the EU complaint was revealed. One way or another, it's either a conspiracy aimed at making sure CCFC were no longer tenants at the...

    St Andrews confirmed!

I guess. It depends on how far you want to look for a conspiracy. Like I said they could have been hoping to keep it quiet and get a deal done before anyone realised and thus manage to get the money and not look too bad in the process. When it was put into the public eye that wasn't an option...

    St Andrews confirmed!

Not necessarily. Although they will normally be awarded there are occasions when costs/damages aren't awarded even if no wrongdoing is found in the complaint. It might also be a means of trying to prevent SISU from obfuscating if that were the case to prolong the time before they had to pay...

    St Andrews confirmed!

Possibly. Could be poor communication between council and Wasps - council assuming Wasps's knew or something? However, like you I'd have thought as soon as I knew about it I'd be wanting to get hold of the other organisations involved to inform them. It could just as easily be that Wasps's...

    St Andrews confirmed!

Depends. When working in Westminster there are constant cross-party talks and committees. Privately a number of them from different parties get on very well on a personal level. But when needed they put on the tribal hats for the media. Nationally most of the fighting recently has been about...

    St Andrews confirmed!

This does seem to confirm the indemnity was if the EU complaint was deemed unfounded, as it mentions Wasps's future damages.

    St Andrews confirmed!

A large part of me says surely not - I'd be livid is my legal team hadn't discovered this. But it's not completely unfeasible although it does mean Wasps's legal representatives had done a shoddy job and at the moment it does fit both sides narrative without either of them being able to be...

    St Andrews confirmed!

Reading SISu's statement it appears that Wasps were asking for indemnity if the EU complaint was unfounded. If it were that the complaint was that CCFC cover Wasps for the extra money they'd have to pay to CCC for the Ricoh, that would be completely nonsensical.

    St Andrews confirmed!

Or I suspect they'd not done their homework and checked the EU complaint situation. It was only after Gilbert talked about it that Wasps seemed to be aware of it. That does bring in a potential timeline of: No talks between CCFC/Wasps. SISU lodge EU complaint SISU lose JR2 SISU sign saying all...

    St Andrews confirmed!

But SISU had already lodged the EU complaint at this time, so depending on your view were either lying when they signed to say they'd halt all legal proceedings or considered it semantics and that the EU complaint wasn't a 'legal proceeding' against Wasps. Either way, it should have been pretty...

    St Andrews confirmed!

If I remember rightly, when we shared with Northampton because both clubs were EFL members, when the league fixtures were being sorted games could be arranged so one team was at home one week, the other the week after to prevent clashes. When sharing with the rugby club that wasn't possible and...

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

It proves my point on this thread. Brexit won the EU election in the area with more than double the votes of its nearest rival. A few weeks later they didn't win the seat in a by-election. UKIP got close in a number of seats last time, but getting close isn't winning. It couldn't be proven...

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

This was the original post, but there followed a discussion on why the GE wouldn't be the same. The P'Boro by-election pretty much proved my points to the letter As I said in those posts, I expected Brexit to pick up a decent amount of votes, just not seats. I thought they'd be very similar to...
