I think the big gulf is actually within the division, between the top and the bottom. A L1 could probably give a decent fist of staying up but have very little chance of going for promotion. Like the PL - the big gulf is between the CL contenders and everyone else, with maybe the odd one or two...

That's rather disingenuous. The 'affordability' only potential 'evens out' a bit on the mortgage interest rates. So if you can't afford the deposit (which is increasingly harder as house inflation exceeds wage inflation) then you can't even get a sniff at the mortgage in the first place.

That is a decent point. There is no agreement that the future relationship will even be put in a referendum but could just be passed by parliament so in theory even if they went no deal they could quickly agree a future relationship along the lines of the WA or even current membership and if...
