    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

There are still the very rare bad reactions and side effects, which despite the very very tiny chance of it happening there is a brief moment where you wonder 'what if...?' Then there's trusting the actual person doing it because if you've had a bad blood test or whatever in the past where...

I think everyone has that to some degree. I did. But it's healthy to have a small degree of uncertainty or even fear. It takes a lot of trust to let someone, often a complete stranger, inject something into you - you are pretty much at their mercy.

    F1 2021

I think Max didn't turn towards Lewis, but he most definitely didn't make the effort he could have to stop his car running wide. His entire intention was to force Lewis wide and off the track. But he also knew he wouldn't be able to do it again without getting penalised. When Lewis did overtake...

What about the people that feel they are being put in danger by people being selfish? If lockdowns did happen again the first people affected would be the vulnerable and elderly. Is it right that they should be deliberately and systematically segregated from the rest of us against their will...

    Migrants crossing from Europe

This is exactly the point. The issues we make of other governments not trying to stop illegal immigrants moving on is a chain that goes back. The fact we're an island means that we don't have any means to 'pass them on', but I bet if we did we wouldn't do much to discourage them. If Scotland...

    Migrants crossing from Europe

What are you talking about? I'm putting forward a reason why we will see more immigration in the coming decades and what we need to do (but aren't) to try and reduce that. None of what I said involved offering people housing, netflix or air-conditioning. It involves keeping the places they...

    Migrants crossing from Europe

Strange that only a few months ago the government were talking about the low birthrate in this country would lead to economic stagnation and trying to convince more people to have children. Wonder why they're trying to load this island with more people, especially ones that will only be taking...

    Migrants crossing from Europe

Another point I forgot to mention that is impacting this is climate change. More and more of the area is becoming desert and the once fertile farmland is now arid and water supplies are running dry, not to mention the problems with the heat. So obviously they'll want to move. So, again, if we...

    Migrants crossing from Europe

The issue is why they feel the need to migrate anywhere at all. So the way to find a better solution is for them to not want or need to get to France in the first place to then (for some reason) come here. Nip the problem in the bud by dealing with it at source. That will be in places like...

    Evening with Coventry Legends.

To be fair I doubt a player would agree to do a City Legends night in the city if they thought the club was shit and they hated the club! Don't think the promoter would have them on the bill if they weren't going to be positive on the whole. Gotta play to the audience.

Isn't unequal distribution of resources for the haves and have nots the entire basis of your political beliefs? If we followed right-wing politics the vaccines would have been on auction to the highest bidder and then have been charged for by the medical professionals and what we'd have is some...

Well given so many more people are literate and the many different ways we can disseminate information around the globe in seconds there pretty much has to be an increase in misinformation. Besides, isn't an increase in weirdo conspiracy theorists an increase in misinformation?

    Migrants crossing from Europe

The reason it happens is because the smugglers make money out of it. It's not in their interests to say "stay in France - the weather's better, the foods nicer and frankly it's a shit show over there at the moment." Despite the legalities it's not exactly in the interests of the French to try...

    Famous people you've met

Suchet was back in Cov about a month ago as part of a tour. Deliberately asked for the Belgrade Theatre on the itinerary because it's where he met his wife. Do you want to discuss boring politics?

At least he seems genuinely upset. To be honest did anyone really expect this to lead to anything new that the countries had any real intention of sticking to? It seems to be that the entire point of these things is not to do something but to be seen to be doing something. Words not action. A...

It's pretty good because it shows we're doing well - success breeds stability - and we've done OK with injuries but there is that nagging thought that maybe at some point they might get fatigued and performance levels will drop. If we can keep that small group fit and be able to swap a few...
