    Big difference is Simms is a proven goal scorer. Bassette is not at the moment. That’s not saying Bassette won’t get there but it does mean Simms is currently 1st choice.

    Agree by and large. Eights all round with 9 for Eccles, Rudoni, Bidwell and Wilson. Wright looked tired but still looked like he carried a threat.     They bought fresh, full internationals on that have changed hands for millions and millions. Nothing to do with our subs. If anything we should have just pumped it into the channels in the last five but if we can’t see the positives in that it’s lunacy.

    What was especially positive was that there have been a few where you’d thought “ are they up to it”. In that regard a big big night for Binks, Allen, Rudoni, Thomas-Asante and Bassette.

    The subs were bang on. Wright and Eccles had run themselves into the ground. Bassette as well, and Simms was a perfectly logical choice. The way we lost was disappointing, but decisions were spot on.

    Starting 11 were superb. Subs were logical. We had 15 shots against a prem team who were bringing top notch internationals on. That was fantastic - let’s not mess about.

    Solid displays all round apart from Wright who looks tired. Anyone who knocks Allen should think again. Right sort of game for Bassette and Thomas-Asante, can utilise their energy and be pests.
