No-one was saying he shouldn't get a new deal. It was questioning whether four years for a player who has been injured a lot during his time at the club, even in the academy, was sensible. That was, and arguably still is, a valid doubt.
Don't know about favourite but I think most memorable would be Linkin Park in Birmingham. Chester's last ever gig. Thinking about him singing One More Light with the place lit up with camera torches still sends a shiver down my spine.
I don't go to many gigs - bands seem to spilt up for one...
But would you take the trophies they won in the not too distant past and being a little bit shit now ahead having been at all the tournaments and done reasonably well but won none?
If true at least it shows they are planning properly. If they can get them on a new contract brilliant. If not at least they can sell them while they still have a good value.
It's not just that one seat, it's how the whole nonsense could affect people's voting intentions elsewhere.
As I've said if there are people outside of the constituency that would use Corbyn staying (or going) as a reason for not voting Labour then on the whole I'd say they'll be looking for a...
If a single backbench MP popular with his constituents keeping his seat is enough to make them not vote for Labour I'd suggest it's people looking for any excuse to not vote for Labour. Half of those that would say they didn't vote for Labour because Corbyn stayed would probably also say they...
Don't involve him on the front bench or in nationwide campaigns then. I think having Corbyn as an independent will get far more media and prove way more of a distraction. Also a good chance that Labour could lose the seat because of it.
There are far more important issues to be spending time on...
Why would it have to be called the House Of Lords?
They have seats in the lower chamber but choose not to attend. They could do exactly the same in the upper house.
It's not so much the change of leader that bothers me, as we vote for a party not the leader, but when that new leader just ignores the manifesto on which the party were elected and just do whatever they want, like Truss. In that instance there is no mandate from the people for what they are...
Parties already have the power to choose appointments. That's why it's so bloated. Every time there's a change in party the new party elect a load of new Lords to have some sort of control of it. At least PR based on the public vote limits how many they can appoint. And there's no requirement to...
