    Kelly

Probably the fact that he has played 400+ games as a midfielder. Not the 20 that Lats has as a utility player there... Also based on the end of last season, where he was key to a team that finished in the play offs. He'll be gone in summer, either way but we should defo be utilising him more.

Match Thread Plymouth (A)- Wednesday 14th Feb

I actually thought Plymouth reminded me very much of us in our first season back in the champ. They carried a threat but looked vulnerable. Think they could progress well over next few seasons if they can keep their top players.

That's why he was meant to hold him up... He still had kitching and da silva behind, cb's get isolated at times, he wasn't hung out to dry. Diving in is what cost the goal, not his isolation on the right.

Not sure hung out to dry is right. As you say there is no excuse for diving in. He just needed to have a calm head and hold him up in that moment whilst the team got back. He will learn from it tho as I said last night, he's 22 he has to be allowed to make mistakes.

    Clean sheets

Keeping clean sheets is fundamental to being a successful team. What's the saying, attack wins you games, defence wins you titles. Robins has always prioritised being solid over expansive attacking football (not that we don't end up playing good football). Robins has said he needs time on the...

    Uber for Matt?

Godden is a good lower champ striker but not in this system/formation. We need more and he is in an awful run of form. It's a hard job as the striker in the formation, but we have what we have and we will just have to hope he can nick a couple between now and the end of the season. New...

    Clean sheets

They played 5 league games together consecutively in Jan/Feb without keeping a cleansheet. Pretty much half that run. It's a wider team issue not the CB pairing. I'm certain Robin's would love time on the trg ground to address it but they aren't getting any due to the run of games. Picking...

Agreed Grendel. Unbeaten in the league at home since October. They score goals, and as you say a number of key players missing, with a busy schedule. Happy with a point going into Saturday.

Oh for god sake 😂 he's 22 and learning. He made a rash mistake that's all. Fadz did that multiple times in in his first season with us.

Not sure losing O'Hare makes the fixture significantly harder. It's a loss, but it would be a hard game with or without him. Slightly more difficult yes but not the end of the world. Be a bit more positive, I think Palmer will have more joy not occupying the same spaces as O'Hare, although...

    Bradley collins

Agreed. I said it on another thread previously. Look at the quality of keeper in the prem, which just shows a lack of quality keepers in general at the moment. The likes of Foderingham, Steele etc as first choice keepers is nuts.

    Unhappy Robins

There isn't another upgrade I don't think. This is the same pitch used at the likes of Wembley, arsenal etc. it must be an upkeep issue... Which needs looking into.

    Unhappy Robins

Hmmm not sure I agree, I think the pitch has quite obviously been deteriorating since January. I'd imagine the frustration is we have paid top money for this hybrid pitch. It's strange as Ryton still looks in good nick on the pictures, and it's the same company.

It is also a 9 player bench now tho... Up until recently it would still have been a bench full of first teamers.

    Torp or Hamer?

Totally different players and too early to compare. Hamer was more dynamic on the ball, and his ball carrying was fantastic. Torp looks classier and strong, less rash as well, but he isn't going to dribble past players.

    Transfer Rumour Haji Wright

I don't think anyone can really question the price or his output. He may not be as easy on the eye but he's equal with the likes of piroe & mavidi in terms of goals and further ahead in assists. Piroe cost significantly more and mavidi around the same.

Tbf I don't think anyone is saying somebody is shit. It's just classic of the forum to think in binary terms either amazing or shit.
