    Should the Wasps Section Go?

No Nick, that’s too inflammatory. You need something neutral like “Anti-Franchise Heros vs Council Fanboy Hypocrites” ;)

    League 1 tonight

Decent set of results tonight IMO. Posh, Sheffield and Bradford all failing to win. I'm settling into looking for a playoff place, whilst of course hoping for a fantastic run to get us into the automatics. Let's face it, the playoffs would be more exciting than anything we've seen for many a...

    Should the Wasps Section Go?

The most popular thread on the Wasps section was kicked off in October with … "Well according to a rather subdued Mr Eastwood on CWR it seems the franchise bunch are 'hoping' for 10,000 tomorrow. Still of course more than the Wycombe fixture last year and of course everyone is obsessed with the...

I have nothing against this thread, but would like to point out that it was fifty-two years ago :)

    Phillips

He can play, but looks like a square peg in a round hole. Surely he’d make a better central midfielder?

If only! Martin Cranie maybe, which is no bad thing.

Butts Park Arena is new home

Kneeza – apologies to you (also Hill83 & Otis) regarding the existing stand. When I was there, I had done a rough calculation in my head based on counting the rows & columns of seats. On re-doing that using a photo, I can see that 3,000 is right. So my 5,000 was about as far over the bar as a...

Butts Park Arena is new home

If you go there and have a look at the existing stand, basic though it is it appears to hold about 5,000. There's room on the opposite side to expand, so building a 20,000 seat stadium there is technically quite feasible I would have thought. I'm not advocating it, just saying it looks possible.

Best City XI of All-time (Strikers)

Yes, it was pure genius wasn't it? Had a perfect view from the "Crow's Nest" at the top of the Kop :)

Best City XI of All-time (Strikers)

There are plenty to choose from including Hudson, Gould, Ferguson, Wallace, Houchen, Regis, Quinn and Gibson. The sensible choice would no doubt be Dublin and Keane. But I’m going for a couple of old favourites - Neil Martin (for his incredible heading ability and underrated all-round play)...

Nice one Terry! About 6 goals per match wasn't it :)

I don't normally bother with this kind of comment, but what the hell? Whoooppeeeee !! PS I'm a natural pessimist. Would anybody else settle for a point at this stage?

    Armstrong here for the season

Fair enough, I did find it a bit strange. I was fooled by the phrase "However, the Magpies have inserted a recall clause into Armstrong’s temporary deal with the Sky Blues". Journalists love to make everything sound like news don't they?

    Armstrong here for the season

Great news, but the newly-inserted 24-hour recall is potentially a problem. Can't complain though, they are letting us have a brilliant striker for the season. If Cole and Bigi sign on permanently that would be good news too - especially Bigi, who I think could be superb if he can get fully...

Arsenal and Liverpool in race to sign James Maddison (Independent)

Nice little feature about Maddison on the official website, had me smiling in places: http://www.ccfc.co.uk/news/article/feature-james-maddison-coventry-city-league-one-2876286.aspx I think he’ll play for England, hopefully while still with CCFC. Not sure about odds of 1/8 though. Edit: I...

    Best City XI of all-time - LM/LW

Hutch will obviously win this part of the poll, and I do have marvellous memories of watching him play. But just to be contrary, I'll go for Steve Hunt, who had more end product in terms of goals and quality crosses.
