    Coventry's most important/memorable games

Got to include the Wolves game in 67. You can make a case for any of the crazy relegation escapes, the Checkatrade and the playoffs etc. But even though it didn't completely decide anything (so wasn't "important" in that sense) 51,000 people inside Highfield Road was the absolute climax of the...

    Swansea (H) - Tuesday 2nd - 19:45

Ridiculous meltdown on here. Maybe it's a measure of how far we've come that a narrow defeat (courtesy of two avoidable/lucky goals) against a skillful Championship side makes people think we are rubbish and in a nosedive. Look at where we are. We're competing in the top half of this league and...

    Most successful ex player

Agree with all of that, and would add that Denis wasn't just a great player - he captained that Villa side to the league title and the European Cup. Jordan Henderson has done the same and more, but doesn't really count as he only played a small number of games for us as a loanee.

    Gyokeres Injury

It's only a single blurred frame. The injury may not have been caused directly by the impact in the image, but just afterwards when he staggered awkwardly after being sent flying? Either way, a terrible challenge with the ball long gone.

    David Speedie comments CWR

You might want to re-phrase that weeman ;)

    Gyokeres Injury

    So now you're saying it's Viktor's wormhole?

    Gyokeres Injury

No anatomical arguments this time. That’s definitely a picture of Viktor’s tackle.

    Match Thread Blackburn Rovers (A) Sat 16th October 2021 - 3pm KO

EFL highlights are shown on QUEST (Channel 12 on Freeview IIRC). You can see last night's coverage on their catchup site. Involves free registration and a few ads. Our game from yesterday starts just after 11 minutes. The penalty incident is included, but it's hard to see what happened to Vik's...

    The Penalty

Had to read that one a few times Wingy :) I think my answer is No.

    Ex Player Watch

Roger van Gool and Rudi Kaiser – both signed from the continent as direct wingers who would set the First Division on fire. As I recall, Roger was underwhelming, and Ruud was exciting for a short while before getting injured and leaving. Late 70s / early 80s - it was much harder in those days...

    Derby points deduction

You mean Derby County FC might turn out to be just a non-trading property subsidiary? I guess their fans may soon have the pleasure of going on a treasure hunt for the Golden Share. Almost makes me feel nostalgic for those days.

    RIP Jimmy Greaves

Simply the best goalscorer I have ever seen, and so entertaining alongside Saint on the TV. RIP Jimmy.

    Song creation thread

Yeah, got to be a Swedish song and ABBA's SOS is good - So when you're near me, Viktor can't you hear me, Gyökeres The goals you gave me, nothing else can save me, Gyökeres Note to creative types who might want to emphasise Vik's feminine side - he also rhymes with conqueress, sorceress and...

    Player ratings v Cardiff

Harry Kane waits for real contact and goes down like a sack of spuds. I hate it but at least it works. Todd Kane looked around for the opposing player, slowed up hoping for a shove, and theatrically threw himself to the floor. Problem was that their player only brushed him with his fingers, as...

    Player ratings v Cardiff

Kane wasn't fouled, it happened right in front of us and was a pathetic attempt to con the ref. He made a right tit of himself, could have cost us a goal and got sent off with a second yellow for simulation. Moore 8 – a big upgrade on the keepers we've had over the last few years, spreads calm...

    Humble pie

To be more exact, you said "He looks utterly hopeless to me. Too slow both physically and mentally, and clumsy to boot." :) Fair enough though for acknowledging how well he's playing now. But you weren't alone and there might not be enough pie to go around. Here's a few more quotes about...

    Jake Clarke-Salter

Yeah that boiler and radiator analogy was all wrong. To me, it’s more like turning up the thermostat using the dial in the kitchen, only to find that the window in the back bedroom has been left open and the lagging on the pipes in the outside bog has come away, causing condensation and some...

    George Curtis

Only just heard this sad news. George was one of a kind, and the absolute foundation of City's rise to the top flight in the 60s. To then go on and play such a magnificent part in the 1987 cup win makes him arguably the single greatest figure in the club's history. RIP Iron Man.
