So I can't see fans being gagged as this would surely be a freedom of speech...

I think that's why there's a league pyramid, and within the seperate leagues there are better teams and worse teams. As you go down the leagues the standard of team and a lot of the time, footballer, get worse. It's nothing to do with the money they're on, it doesn't even mean they're bad...
