And who those people in that area tend to follow will largely already have been decided long ago. If you move into the area and have no allegiance you'll likely end up following the one the locals do so you fit in and it can be a social occassion.

Again if we're talking youngsters those kids that have moved in will go to school and will be influenced by who they meet there and want to go to wherever they go to try and fit in.

If parents follow a team they'll take them to the team they support. They're aren't going to suddenly start going to a different team just because it's cheaper to take their kids. If parents aren't interested, a kids biggest influence will be who friends at school support and so they'll nag...
