For £10m+ I think we could have done better. I mean Robins doesn't even play them a full game or play them together and Godden is the lead striker. You can already see there is a problem.

Unfortunately we bought in the wrong strikers and adding a decent central defender and decent attacking midfielder aren't going to make us 'a top side in this league'. We will have a mid table side until that's resolved.

He'll defintely play Godden so it will be 2 upfront. I guess Ayari will start. Sadly Saka will warm the bench only used if we're chasing the game with 15 mins left. Which is a shame because Saka is one of our few players capable of shaking up defences. We're too practicable.

I'd be interested in the estimated transfer fees of ins and outs. At the minute I think Doug is bagging some serious cash for his mystery investors. And yes I know there's all sorts of other costs around wages, the stadium, the Ryton window repair. but I'd imagine with the ticket price hike he's...

Godden missed the best chance

Robins has favourites. That includes Palmer and Godden and Allen. They will be amongst his first picks when fit. Palmer's going nowhere. And Sakamoto and/or Simms, Wright will be having a lot of bench time.

Some people need to learn that it isn't easy to replace quality. With Vik and Gus quite a few were saying sell them for 15 or 20m and get 3 or 4 players in instead to cover the loss. That isn't working out too well is it? Let's keep quality in the squad if we can.

We are a fairly predictable team. I’d use it just to disrupt and shake things up. And if you make it a showpiece the fans will be totally up for it. Getting the fans woken up and chanting is a good plus.

I don’t see any evidence he likes to switch up wingbacks after his recent signings. Sakamoto has been cover for Palmer. That opportunity is going.

So what’s your scenarios when we’ll see him?

He’d help get the fans going as well. Clearly all the markings of a fan’s favourite and someone who’d you want to go up to a game to watch.

I agree he’s more of a winger. He should be tried there in an overwhelming attacking role and see how much he messes up a defence and gives the likes of Simms chances in the box.

So do you still really think ‘we’ll see a lot of him’? Ayari will push him down the order and COH will push him way down. A shame because Saka is capable of beating a player and disrupting defences. I get the feeling MR has made up his mind. And he’s a stubborn bloke.

Are the ‘you’ll moan at anything’ brigade happy with charging away fans kids £25?

The children pricing, certainly for away fans, is a mistake. But I doubt anything can be changed until next season. I pay for my daughter and her bloke to go. I personally won’t stretch that to £37 a pop.

So much focus on our strikers and midfield but actually our defence has been the biggest concern. I'd settle for a clean sheet and a much more composed defensive performance. Ok I'd take a Wright and Simms couple of goals as well....

Have training facilities actually improved yet? I know a pitch is in prep, is it finished? Doug spent virtually no money until he knew Vik was off. He's been pretty lucky to start off with £35m of transfers in his pot. And even luckier MR and that pre-Doug squad delivered so well last season...

We needed some quality and skill added to the midfield mix. Optimistic this guy is perfect for that and he will lift everyones game a bit. Looking forward to his link up with COH, saka, Palmer, Wright ...
