Looks promising. More pressure on Palmer to realise his potential. I assume loan deals don't come with any 'must be played' type clause?

    Sunderland crowd..

Somethin's gone mad in the world when we are trying to charge kids of working class parents £25 a ticket so we can pay players £20,000 a week to reach the promised land of paying players £50,000 a week with even higher ticket prices.

    Transfer Rumour Ellis Simms

He will be on the bench now for a while probably. He needs to make a real impact when he comes on. Not ideal for him but it gives him some time to get fit and up to speed and confidence building goal opportunities against tiring defences. Ps. You know anyone using 'woke' is a grade A moron...

I guess we missed Palmer's creativity today. Maybe just playing him half and half with sakamoto is the best we can get out of him when he comes back in.

Happy with that team sheet. MR maybe taking a bit more risk, really hope it pays off. Big chance for Saka in particular. We do seem to have a lot of injuries and our players aren't the fittest, that needs looking at.

    Hamer

They'll be understandable interest in Gus for a few games then it'll get boring. It's just natural, I mean this is a 200+ page thread about him... You've got to be an absolute moron to question anyone's support for City because of it.

    Robins dilemma

Fingers in the ears. That always works out well. Ask Micky Adams. Its a silly thing to do as in the end it just puts yourself under more pressure.

    Robins dilemma

He hasnt started the season great though has he? He's had one stinker and one good game- though good job his scuffed shot went in else we might have been saying otherwise. Last season he had a bucketload of anonymous games where he barely had a touch. Fans had every right to criticise and its no...

You reckon payers put on the bench feel the same way?

I just don't want us to get overrun in midfield. It happens too often. Palmer needs to show he's more than just a luxury player, else get someone like Saka in away from home to offer some wide threat and put some defensive yards in. We also don't want an anonymous Godden away game he needs to be...

    Robins dilemma

Talking about a 'dilemma' at this point is a bit odd. Robins targeted, researched and bought in these two players a few weeks ago. You'd hope there was quite a lot of clarity and planning on how he was going to use them in the squad. I think everything we've seen so far suggests it will be...

    Robins dilemma

Robins loves Matty is a major factor. If he is really keen to play Simms and Wright together then he better give them some time together on the pitch. Understanding your strike partner is the most important thing.

    Robins dilemma

I think Godden will start the majority of games this season. Simms will be increasingly on the bench as a Wright sub. Not saying I agree with that....just Robins way.

    Good or bad thing?

Not sure how many high quality players are available at this point tbh. It may be about inflated player prices especially as everyone knows we got a decent chunk from Gus. More time for haggling required

    Hamer

I'm talking about their development as football players. Vik will be playing 90% of games against league 1 level teams for a few years, and he can't just move quickly if he fancies. Gus probably had few other options to step up tbh, this was the best he could do, financially and to make...

    Hamer

The positive for Gus is he should develop his all round skill and fitness. Vik is unlikely to do that. He might just cruise for a few years. Will be interesting to see how the two of them get on.

Very likely Robins will go with the same starting 11. A bit of a concern we'll get overrun in midfield with Palmer and Godden not offering much support there. Maybe Saka for Palmer but it wont happen, until 70 mins anyhows.
