Another team who has somehow found space to build a new ground in London

I was just looking at google maps for plough lane and there is a lot of open space round the existing greyhound stadium, mostly cemeterys!

Gould's take on the loan system...

He is partly right the loan system is being exploited by the clubs with the money for their own benefit, below link to article on how Chelsea use the system. http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2014/sep/09/chelsea-loan-players-change-rules-wild-west-football

I will maybe concede a "slightly pedantic clarification" but I can assure you it wasn't any sort of personal attack. Can't we lighten up round here, it would be boring if everyone agreed with each other wouldn't it?

Don't think I was being petty at all, merely making a point, this is being petty & small minded.. See the difference?

No you implied that the local authority could override planning regs, they can't.

Not possible, the planning regulations must be followed, they can object but reasons must be provided & it would be possible to appeal, up to the secretary of state, as in fact the guy who wanted to develop Baginton Airport did, but the fat boy rejected it...

I think the pay off values CCC tried with YB, from memory started off about £9M & ended up at £14.4 after 3 iterations. I think there was some sort of YB write down, in the order of £2-3M, details ISTR in the judgement for first JR if someone cares to look.

Just as irrelevant. The public simply do not have any details to be certain of.

Did your friend Ann tell you that, if not who did? It appears that you are claiming to have knowledge about something that you had no involvement in or are you just repeating what you were told to say.

That offer was accepted, this wasn't. Why not? Maybe it was no where near as good or maybe it was simply far too late & brinkmanship backfired. Only the negotiating parties know & they can't disclose details.

Do you think that maybe the Wasps offer was in negotiation already when the decision to take that loan on was made by the full council in camera? I don't know but is that plausible.

Supporters' group tells Coventry City FC owners to clarify stadium plans

An undocumented, unaccountable, untracable offer made in the full view of all media outlets. Contents unfathomable, some positive sounding details leaked of course.

But I'll bet they never provided any security to guarantee that the loan would be paid off. That was a big issue in earlier negotiations, they simply could not raise the money but Derek Richardson could & did, then of course got it back with the bond issue.

Supporters' group tells Coventry City FC owners to clarify stadium plans

You're missing the point, the issue was paying off that £14M debt, not the lease length as that was obviously negotiated up to a point where it was effectively forever.

Supporters' group tells Coventry City FC owners to clarify stadium plans

I think SISU believed they could buy the loan for a fraction of its value and that thinking persisted through the sales process, then they were out flanked (again) as it was paid up by Wasps at full value. Well at least the club is not another £20M deeper in debt, which as they can't raise that...
