Genuinely curious, if it’s not fatigue and injury that has caused our form to dip what do you think it is? And do you not think that players like Wright, Sheaf, Eccles, Milan etc. have looked genuinely tired on the pitch recently?

I would hazard a guess that for a lot of our players this year it will be the most minutes they’ve ever played in a season, so they’re not used to it. Also it’s distribution. We played 8 games in April, with 4 really tough ones (Leeds, Soton, United, Ipswich). Doubt we ever had a run like that...

Those teams would get absolutely fucking battered by elite teams today. I’m talking 10/15-0. They would look like amateurs. It’s incomparable.

Torp is that player, you can see his ball striking is a level above the others. Kelly is finished really, doesn’t have the legs to play in our system. To be honest, it’s not really a necessity imo. Wright and Simms should get 30-40 between them. Sakamoto/EMC hopefully 5-10 each. Maybe 10 goals...

We're only losing one loan player vs 4/5 last year. All our key players have 2+ years left on their contract rather than 1, meaning we're in control of any sales. The team isn't reliant on 2 players anymore, we have quality in multiple areas. Need I go on?

As I thought lol. You're so caught up in the short term you can't see we're in a far better position now. I don't even need to explain why we are, it's so obvious.

Money spent? We've made a net profit on transfers since then. And as you say, we've increased the quality of the squad. Do you not agree we're going into this summer in a better position than last? If so, why the negativity? Disappointing run yes, but nothing worth throwing a strop about.

We were right in contention with 4/5 games to go and have tailed off due to injury/fatigue. I'd describe that as coming up short. Anyway it makes little difference to me whether we're 1 or 10 points off. We're actually in a better position than we were last summer.
