    Supermarket shortages

Just put the potatoes in today. Sowed the kale; broccoli; beetroot and others a week ago in the greenhouse and I've spotted them peeping out today! Parsnips and carrots sowed outdoors at the same time and no sight of them yet.

So when you bumped into him, did you fall over and roll around on the floor with your hands over your face?

I also harvest basil and spinach seeds and butternut squash last year (will see how that does). Been using the seeds from one basil plant for about 5 years now (their offspring, not the original seed). The downside is having to put up with the mess for a month or so as they go to seed...

    Supermarket shortages

Decided to buy flour and yeast and make bread/pasta - but just got back and they didn't have any of that either. Top Tip: if you ask at Tesco bakery they will give you fresh yeast for nothing. Doesn't help if they have no flour though.

Dunno. I can see the florets coming. One possible explanation is that I take the nets off over winter so the ducks can get in and eat the slugs. I reckon the wood pigeons have had their fill over winter so the leaves are all chewed down. I don't begrudge them it.

OK, so here's a delicious salad. Get some wheatberries from a health food shop. After soaking overnight, boil them and allow to cool before adding into a salad bowl. Add fresh veg of your choice (I use salad onions and pepper) and olive oil and balsamic vinegar. It's delicious. They used to...

We'll have salad from the garden within a month. Sprouting broccoli maybe a couple of weeks after that. Planning to buy some flour to make bread and pasta and some dried yeast. As we are vegetarians we mostly eat fresh vegetables and reportedly these are still available, so I think we'll be...

    Supermarket shortages

Last week in our Tescos the shelves were full of toilet rolls. I thought 'thank God the people in my town aren't wankers". I didn't buy as we still had half a packet. By the weekend the shelves were all empty. Look at the state of this twat on eBay (looks like he already sold one): 3kg...

TV series that should be repeated but never are.

I came across Bob Servant as a Twitter account - really funny. He made two TV series and the first is currently being rerun on BBC Scotland only. He's a fictional burger-van seller in Dundee. Here's an example of his tweets. TV series worth catching.

It was on iplayer - I came across it half-way through. But I think it may have expired now.

TV series that should be repeated but never are.

It was repeated very recently on BBC4. But I think they may have stopped before all of them were shown, as I remember Ferdie the motorcycle delivery driver being in it more than was shown. Really enjoyed it in the 90s but it had aged. Really fun listening to all the Britpop played in the...
