Football Weekly special on climate-change and football

Was a rather inspiring listen (I had caught it before it was posted here). Certainly needs to be thought about with where we are at now, and it’s why it is crucial to get that train line in proper operation at the Ricoh.

Wasps losses and ricoh return catalyst

What about when he said for every £1 of income we earned, something ridiculous like 80p was going straight to the owners. No basis for it whatsoever.

Absolute waffle. We’ve created about 20 chances so far.

Just for reference, the U21s are playing a qualifier at the moment for their tournament. 0-0 after 10 minutes.

Not doubting that this is the case, but do you have any evidence?

Wasps losses and ricoh return catalyst

This is where it’s been hazy as to the security instrument on the initial bond issue. It seemed to be suggested that the long leasehold of the Ricoh was security for bond holders but there is also talk that in the event of insolvency the lease defaults back to CCC. If you’re talking about after...

Fans think M R is god.

Ultimately, wage spend has the biggest correlation to league position (study done a few years back, can’t be arsed to find it). We have a self-imposed wage budget, no shame in that. To finish higher we need to concentrate on generating higher revenues - hence the transfer model. That’s the long...

Fans think M R is god.

They changed managers and were still only saved from relegation by Wigan’s points deduction. Stop pretending that a change of manager is a cure-all solution.

Hope the double pivot in the middle is Rice and Mount.

Which players would you keep for next season?

Re the bold bit above - especially in the current climate! I’d keep him as cover anyway, he’s been far from good for the most part this season but at least he could provide cover across all 3 CB positions and fits the bill of a cheap squad player.

    Membership / Season Tickets

Just musing, but when (if) we hit the 8,000 limit I hope they can continue to sell the memberships which then comes with the opportunity to purchase the season ticket at a later date for the additional fee. A bit like they did last season, I suppose.

Which players would you keep for next season?

Quite the opposite. We’ve done that this season and it’s limited us severely. Adaptability (as highlighted by my Marcus Browne example) is what I’d be looking at.

Which players would you keep for next season?

It’s why I’d be looking at someone like Marcus Browne in the summer, who could play centrally (in a 1 or 2 behind a striker) or out wide (in a 3).

    Free kicks and corners

Quality of set pieces has been dropping almost vertically this year. Even throw ins look like such hard work - just get the ball back in play.

    Running

Had a week off last week (and had a bit of a ‘fat week’ when it came to eating) but back to it this morning with a 5k. 28 mins so a chunk slower than a couple of weeks ago.

    Pask v Da Costa

Oh, I agree with that as well. But if we’re sticking with wing backs then we’ve got to understand the importance of their attacking impetus in stretching the play horizontally and moving us up the pitch. If we revert to a back 4, then not a problem playing Pask. But in a WB role, no.
