We really aren’t getting relegated, and there was no midweek fixture last week or this week.
We should be playing our strongest 11. A win would benefit us far more for confidence than resting anyone.
And the conclusion of that conversation was obviously that it was never going to happen because he wouldn’t be interested, we couldn’t afford him and if he was open to a championship move he’d have better clubs after him than us.
Eccles?
Eccles Torp Rudoni is fine as a midfield. We do need more depth but it's not "the worst midfield in the league by a distance" as one overexcited poster called it.
It's another cognitive dissonance classic from SBT
"Sheaf has been shit all season, he needs dropping"
"Sheaf injured, that's it, we're getting relegated"
I like Sheaf but I think he would've benefitted from some time out the team, he's not played well recently. But dropping an established captain as a new manager is a bit of a no no so I can se why Lampard didn't do it. Not turning on him at all.
One of the main reasons I wanted Lampard was his fame, gravitas and Chelsea connections to attract players to the club. If that’s not happening why did we bother!
