No mate, he covered the losses. The club lost £5m that FY, and that includes making a £2.4m profit from Hyam so it's more like £7m Basically you don't understand that the club just loses money every single year and Doug has to cover that before he can even think about adding extra finance in...

Basically no one for a fee, wasn't it? Mainly loans.

Well, we don't have the accounts. So you have no clue. The latest accounts showed we made a loss of around £5m to May '23 which includes player trading. So Doug must have funded that.

Is he not covering our losses to the tune of ~£5m a year? I don't get this argument of him not putting his own money in. He is, surely, unless my understanding is wrong.

Haji's a great goalscorer, not a particularly clinical finisher though. His strength is generating lots of chances through intelligent movement, pace and heading ability. He's pretty average at actually converting those chances, but because he gets so many he scores a lot of goals. Remember...

xg describes how many chances you get. Not how clinical you are at finishing them.

So he was an average finisher. i.e. not clinical. Not sure why this is difficult to understand. This was all in response to someone comparing him to BTA last season. Neither of them were any better than average at actually finishing chances, which is my entire point.

Do you understand what xG is? He scored 13 non penalty goals in the championship. So converting 13.4 npxg into 13 goals is not clinical, it's below average finishing.

    Most Hated Sports Star

"almost anything" being the constant hatred and abuse he spouts I take it It would be one thing to ignore him if he was alone, but sadly he has plenty of supporters.

shocking that when you go from 1 goal contribution in 16 games to 7 in 6 opinions change oh wait, no it isn't.

And? Being clinical is about chance conversion, not how many goals you score total. Last season Haji underperformed his xG and had very average conversion ratios. He wasn't clinical.

Haji wasn’t very clinical last season

He only got 11 for a side that finished top 6 while being their first choice striker generally. That tells me he’s probably not that clinical.

    Asante

How is he useful when he’s probably 4th choice striker right now and looks awkward at best on the wing?

Match Thread Coventry City - Sheffield Wednesday [FA] Match Thread - Saturday 11th Jan

20-30 min sub appearance would be fine I don’t want him to start, be way out of his depth and us be at a big disadvantage for the majority of the game. I’m very sceptical of Raphael tbh, not sure he’s going to give us much at least for a while.
