    Willis to Luton?

He has one go at a career. He has to maximize his earnings, just like any professional in any activity. He would be mad to pass up playing for a financially stable club in a higher league. All that loyalty bollox is for deluded fans. I thought he was over-rated anyway. Good but not Maddison...

Will it be harder than first thought next season?

The answer to the question is "Yes" - end of.

    Bayliss

I don't think we can afford Baylis, Kelly and Bright in the same team. It leaves us light on midfield heavyweights. The form of Shipley in the Bayliss slot showed this, and he is not much of a heavyweight. Best midfield in a 4-4-2 is the model of Peter Reid & Glen Hoddle Mexico World Cup 1986...

    Next Seasons Confirmed Squad/Transfer Rumours

We need a hardcase alongside Kelly to win back the ball and be a leader in the dressing room. We hade a few too many of the Fancy Dan type of player, nice though they are to watch

Tom Davies contract extension. Yes or No ?

He's a leader, Willis is probably going, he's good for the division, so I would keep him. I like the way they have worked out a move whereby Davies comes out of defence but does not hoof it, instead plays it short to Thomas, who is lithe enough to turn and move the ball forward. See the Baka...

    Player of the Season Vote

Oh, and Kelly has been voted man of the match by the player raters seven times. First equal with (would you believe it) Burge...........

    Player of the Season Vote

I have now updated the cumulative figures I have been keeping for all "player ratings" entered after each game by people on this site, and Kelly has overtaken Hyam after the Pompey game as the highest rated player. The average is 6.2, Kelly averages 6.8, Hyam 6.78.

    Curtis Nelson - Oxford

Doyle upgrade as in - senior pro, leader on the pitch. Not going to get bullied

    Curtis Nelson - Oxford

The point about "established players" is a good one. Note in particular the "Shrewsbury Two". Does Robins have problems with older players. So far only Doyle and Kelly have prospered. He does seem to like working with the more pliable younger players. Could be a weakness.

Thought he was good against us and exactly the kind of player you need in league 1 and that we do not have. A Doyle upgrade

haven't done the numbers but the sum of the player ratings will almost certainly be Hyam

Match Thread Portsmouth vs. Coventry City Match Thread - Monday 22nd Apr

If so, it will confirm what many of here have assumed, that much of the recent goings ons were all about negotiating. The question will be which side blinked? Was it Wasps (lost revenue because CCFC have a viable ground share option), or SISU (lost court action). Or both. CCFC's recent PR blitz...

    Our path to the playoffs

We have had 92 successive games with something to play for at the top of the division we're in, starting with the 3-0 defeat of Notts County last season through to the play offs and then to now. The last time that happened was Hill's last two seasons. Even if we fall short, which I suspect we...

In place of who? Baka? Chaplin is not a target man. Hirwula? scores at twice the rate as Chaplin. Bright? He is twice as skillful. This is the Chaplin problem.

Match Thread Coventry City vs. Bradford City Match Thread - Friday 19th Apr

I have just listened to Guardian Football Weekly podcast, which has on it two Sunderland supporters , Barry Glendenning and Jonathan Wilson. Wilson was at the game and is a very astute dispassionate observer. Described Saturday as the most boring 9 goal thriller he'd ever seen. Blamed the added...

Match Thread Chances of Making The Playoffs

Teams just promoted often carry on doing well the following year, but then fall back the year after that. There is no natural law of progression as the other clubs will now know what we have to offer. See Shrewsbury this year, Brentford in the Championship who have both fallen back after good...

Match Thread Chances of Making The Playoffs

Did we start the last week thinking 4 points was the most likely outcome meaning a win against Rovers and a draw at Sunderland? We just got them the hard way.
