If you want to believe there are no geniuses, you go ahead. He was simply better than everyone else and didn't need to put the hours in.

John MacEnroe in his pomp rarely practiced and was not particularly fit. A perfect example of the triumph of talent over endevour.

No you have not shown facts, only inherited opinions. Lazy in the accepted sense of the term - less willing than others to put in effort. If i gave you 100 newborns and you let them eat, sleep and drink football from age zero you should be able to produce a Messi according to your view...

I have not attempted to argue against it but will if you like. I certainly would not argue that early age exposure and practice/repetition are not massive factors, of course they are. But you seem to dismiss all the natural dispositions and physiological inclinations that might lend themselves...

    Player Profiles on CCFC Site

Neither Martin or Swanson appear in this section but Johnson and Tudgay do even though they have yet to sign, nothing on Stokes though. And George Thomas is listed as a midfielder. It can't be that hard to get this stuff right surely? Or am I being a bit OCD?

Tony Mowbray in talks with Spurs over young players

I think too much is made of players 'belonging' to the club. Nearly all permanent signings we get in will have no affinity with the club or the region and our club will be just the next in a line of employers. At least a young loan might have a point to prove.

Mowbray wants to bring back Proschwitz permanently...

That's a coincidence, so do I. I tell people what I want them to know and miss out the other bits. It's like a converationy/communicationy type thing.

Tony Mowbray in talks with Spurs over young players

Yes it is the same for all. Unless you decide to ignore the loan market altogether, get in the best you can and work with that group right through the preseason.

Hard to judge? Everyone else seems to be coping.
