I’m not sure I feel too much sympathy for the players on this one. They are all incredibly well payed and could afford the tickets.

Far from ideal. I guess he’s less than impressed with our commercial teams and inevitably you listen less to them if you don’t value what they have delivered historically. Catch 22.

When you say control do you mean is leading the negotiations from start to finish or he insists on having input and signing off the proposed deals ??

I would be amazed if he had not expected Boddy to deliver options in either scenario, promotion or another year in the championship. King strikes me as pretty sensible.

A have a full time CEO and full time Commercial Director. How is it the owners fault that we don’t have a new sponsor lined up ???

It’s not all to do with ownership but rather the parachute payments …. ….. they are buying very well but losing a lot of quality too

Don’t be ridiculous. Coventry won’t sell Vik for £10m plus 2 loans 😂

I think people don’t literally mean pay as you play but rather a package that is more incentivise around playing. They very much do still exist.

No but I wouldn’t pay £6m for McNallly and £4m for Twine either. McNally moved for less than £2m this time last year and couldn’t get in the Burnley side. Twine was mainly a fringe player too. it’s only 6 months ago fans on this site were saying we should accept £4m-£5m for Hamer ! i think...

Thank god Simon Gilbert isn’t leading the negotiation.

That is in part true, but helped by the fact we left the window stronger than we started it and critically didn’t sell a key asset. That was too often not the case under Sisu. That gave everyone a lift inside the club and as supporters.

I was talking to the CEO of an EFL club today. He said that outside of the Premier League there is next to know money knocking around the leagues. Clubs are trying to persuade agents to be realistic but they are not listening …. Hence why there are not many deals getting done full stop. He...

    Transfer Rumour Ellis Simms

We are talking about Sporting not Real Madrid or Man City. I doubt very much that moving to Sporting is a life long dream for Vik, or comes with a guarantee of winning the big trophies. Vik,and as importantly his agent, will still be very open to other offers I’m sure.

    I doubt that very much.

    Dabo final words

Most worrying comment was his revelation that Da Silva was slower than him !

I don’t mind Boddy but I’d be amazed if he was here for much longer. king has rightly looked to change the commercial side of the club and appears to have been hands on in doing so … this is a pretty clear criticism of the CEO. The only exception being if Boddy wanted to make changes and Sisu...

King has built his businesses on the intelligent use of data to support business decisions. I suspect that the recruitment team will have to use data to a much higher degree than previously to explain their recommendations.
