Behave the kids prices were ridiculously low, and to add insult to injury people were then giving them to adults to come in knowing they were not being checked.

He did check our offering first. He openly talked about that on his BBC CWR interview …. Do people just ignore the facts to support their position. Of course there will be annual increases in season ticket prices …. We have inflation at nearly 9% !

The club are only over a barrel if the player is prepared to wait another year before moving …. If he isn’t then both parties have cards in their hand … … all the mood music from Vik suggests he wants out this summer

Actually the opposite of what it’s alleged others wanted to do. Pricing in steps or incrementally ONLY works if you are broadly at the market rate or just below …. If you are miles below the rate and let’s face it £9k for a box is less than 50% of the market rate, you can’t go up in increments...

The risk of course sits both sides. We will lose value and so will Vik and his agent if he has a poor season or gets injured. It’s therefore in both parties interests to get the deal done.

Not at all. If you are going to really shift price do it from a position of strength and ideally do it once. position of strength: highest finish in 20 years. Likely material player income to fund positive transfer window. Do it once: no one likes 3-4 years of big increases. That alienates...

Over 50% of the championship have signed 1 player or less. Our position is very normal. I’d like Vik sold this week but not if leaving it another 2 weeks gets us another million. That’s huge money for us.

We don’t have any evidence yet that Kings plan has failed. Season tickets revenues already higher than last year. Corporate boxes look like being at least 40% higher than last year.

Good grief. We have 8 weeks to go ….. stop creating false problems. He will go. A deal will get done. King is right to fully test the market before we cut any deal.

I agree with that . But everyone knows he’s going so this is a cash flow issue not a funding issue .

This isn’t how business works or this story plays out. If King doesn’t rate Boddy et al they will leave and be replaced by people he does who are aligned to King. These new people are even less wedded to the past and historic relationships and practices. King gets stronger not weaker.

Why ? Ideally it would be but it’s not essential. getting the right deal us more important than a quick deal for us. There is 8 weeks to go until the window closes and thus is no where near a long drawn out saga yet, it might become that, but it isn’t yet.

They are not the same. A manager can support a player moving on as long as his value to the club is met … After-all it’s the manager that wants the club to improve the playing budget to help him improve the squad.

I’d be gobsmacked if that is true. This is the first time in 20 years that Coventry can sell a player for over £10m and the second time in the clubs history. King must rinse it for every £ he can get.

£18m is the minimum liability but not the maximum liability, therefore the transfer value is not simply £18m.
