    ‘Expert’ season Prediction thread

Defences have got Big Vik's number in his second season so goals dry up. The continued inclusion of MacF means City leak aerial goals. The club slip close to the relegation zone by Xmas But a surge after Christmas pulls us clear largely due to good defence from Doyle and Panzo and the...

    As it stands

The defence as shown leaked a shitload of goals last season and would do so again, particularly against big bruiser c/f's

    Transfer Shouts

If Palmer is a target, it would appear our last three acquisitions have been Kane, Bidwell and Palmer. The theme appears to be players of Championship clubs, deemed as surplus or under-performing by their existing club. This is a change from previously, so when we acquired MacF, Allen, Marosi...

    Callum O’Hare

Of the three O'Hare is (I suspect) the most likley to still be here. The other two fill obvious slots and are more rounded players particularly Hamer. We know C O'H has flaws - in front of goal - and that might make other clubs higher up the League less keen on him. More fool them.

Video VOTE | 2021/22 Goal of the Season, sponsored by Genesis Employment

I go for Tavares because of the pressure he was under - time and because the ball had to be worked across to his right foot - and then the skill in curling it in, at his age and status in the team. It was cold eyed. Shipley was spectacular but it was a bit of hit and hope.

Whole squad. Who stays, who goes?

'Generally we lack Pace and Physique' reminded me of my friend's comment that all I lacked was 'looks and ability'. If you haven't got pace and phsique (bearing in mind that to be a professional footballer in the first place you must have a degree of skill!) then thare is not much left.

Whole squad. Who stays, who goes?

This about right, altho I would keep Hyam rather than Rose as squad We do need to free up some cash for two big solid central defenders (assuming the third is a loan), so my preferred sale would be O'Hare, much as I love him. Bidwell remains only as 'squad'. In fact withe exception of RWB, we...

Liam Hendhaw's analysis of central defenders. Basically neither or Hyam or MacF dominate in the air, but at least Hyam is good going forward. Clark-Salter is less good at going forward than Hyam and marginally better in the air (he is the spot above the line but two left of Hyam iirc). I think...

Match Thread Bournemouth (H) Easter Monday

I thought Waghoen suprisingly effective - more movement than Viktor. But I agree about Kelly. It was clear we needed sonme trickery to break down their defence so it had to be Tavares or even Jones.

    Ratings vs Bournemouth

As usual watching a different game to everyone else. Maatsen and Kane seemed to me the only ones on top of their game. Joint MOTM Plus Hamer in the first half Several times, Bournemouth defenders showed O'Hare up for lack of pace - which might reduce his value. On today's showing Bidwell...

Interesting take on the Championship promotion race

Our problem mainly lies with some of the players most beloved by fans - the central defence. We score goals including some very good ones, but concede way too many. Everybody wittering on about more goals from midfield and acquiring attacking midfielders misses the fact that we do score lots of...

'Can see 7/8 going out on loan at least to recoup some of salaries to enable spend on new players' - ha ha ha this is fantasy. There is limited market for our cast offs. As we have seen year in year out. An when they do go out, they rarely seem to play. Name the last time we gained from having...

    Match Thread Fulham Match Thread

Gyokeres improvement over 18 months is astonishing. He underwhelmed at Swansea in the first part of last season, which in retrospect we can see was probably not his fault. When he first arrived initially nobody was particularly impressed and he was on the subs bench quite a bit. Then we went...
