    Callum O'Hare

People are saying he hasn’t been in good form for a couple of months and hasn’t hit the heights of his pre injury form. That isn’t revisionism. I was very disappointed when he made it clear in the autumn he wanted to leave, but that doesn’t mean that I can’t objectively assess his recent...

    Callum O'Hare

That is ridiculously simplistic. Simms scored 2 at Wolves but he didn’t single handedly beat Wolves. He had a great game but so did Sheaf and others. I note you ignored my point about consistency. Didn’t suit your narrative I assume ……

    Callum O'Hare

Well we allegedly tried to sign Benjamin Rollheiser in January. If true we were aiming high then.

    Callum O'Hare

Simply not true. He played a material part but not single handedly. If he’s one of the best 10’s in the championship he needs to deliver consistently …. That’s not an opinion thst is the very definition of being one of the best players !

    Callum O'Hare

Did he really do well against Leeds ? He worked hard for sure but did he really impact the match in the creative way you would expect a top championship 10 to do ? If you had watched the match as a neutral would you honestly have noticed his performance ?

    Callum O'Hare

It looks that way to me …. If we are honest when he came back from injury his goals masked the fact his overall play was not that impactful. Since then his goals have dried up and we are just left with a player doing short little passes but not hurting the opposition in any way. COH looks the...

    Callum O'Hare

I honestly don’t think it’s an attitude thing. He’s never been able to tackle so the fact he doesn’t now isn’t new news. He looks like he loves the game but his form is miles off that of a Premier League pkayer

    Callum O'Hare

Totally agree. I have been saying this for months. He doesn’t have the physical attributes to step up again. When he does get past his man they are back at him within seconds. He has lost that zip over the first few yards that used to help him. I honestly believe we will sign a more impactful...

Match Thread Southampton - Coventry City Match Thread - Tuesday 9th Apr

The issue is the Cardiff loss not the 3 points from the last 2 matches. 3 points from 9 isn’t good enough to close the gap to the play offs.

    Leicester points deduction

Added to this nonsense the Premier League in their wisdom have decided that the punishment for breaking the rules is a points deduction so small that it doesn’t really impact whether you stay in the Premier League or not. Therefore clubs worried about going down would be better off breaking the...

    Leicester points deduction

The Premier League and EFL have made a complete hash of this. Leicester admit they are guilty but the Premier League can’t punish them this season because this season they are an EFL team and therefore not within Premier League jurisdiction. They can punish them next season if they are...

    Transfer targets

It was very interesting to listen to Brighton CEO Paul Barber talking about transfers. Says most clubs focus on the next 2 windows, Brighton try to work on windows 3 and 4 … calculating which players will have improved to the point they realistically will lose then and ensuring they have the...

Aims and Hopes for next season

In reality very few clubs get their business done early, despite all managers wanting it done ahead of pre season. This doesn’t seem to change regardless of how well funded a club is. Selling clubs want to extract the very best price, agents want to give their player clients the absolute best...

I think we asked for first option but it was not agreed.

    Transfer targets

No club has to bid more than the buy out clause. Once the buy out price is hit then the selling club have a legal obligation to allow the player to leave if the player chooses too. any bidding war will be on the package to the player not the club.

    Season tickets for 2024/2025 season

Inflation is still very much present in the UK so we should expect the ST to go up by at least 5%. I dont like the number of non Saturday matches but it’s the price of relative success. I’m ok with that trade off. I may get to a few less matches but I enjoy the season a lot more overall.

    Kitching and Thomas

I think they have both had good first seasons. Both currently have a mistake in them but they have potential for sure.

    Kitching and Thomas

I see Dawkins was singing Thomas and Kitchings praises yesterday. Positively judged because they pop into his box to see him and his mates. I prefer to judge based on how they play and how solid we look at the back.

    King et al vs SISU

My view isn’t a criticism of King. I think he’s a shrewd business man . I think he’s loving it right now but my view is that he will recognise that the club at some point will need the cash Injection well beyond transfer income and that is most likely to be provided by a much richer person...
