Much the same though OSB - it's all ifs and buts. I sense the RFU, like the FL will probably take the path of least resistance. If Worcester threaten to head down the court route (possibly supported by Leicester and Northampton), it could well be that path is to have Wasps retain their academy...

Which would lead to the very odd (and seemingly unique) position of Wasps having a training facility 100 miles away from their academy...

    Question Mark over Academy

Without Cat 2 do you lose the funding, is the big question I guess?

    Question Mark over Academy

Re Wasps: It might be OSB, but there's no guarantee that the RFU will sanction it even in 2016. It's just another grumble from me about how much the council stretched the truth to persuade themselves Wasps was a great idea. Feel free to ignore. :) Re: The Academy: Agreed this will need...

    Question Mark over Academy

There was a bit of that, and also a bit of the old "Sorry, the agreement was with CCFC Ltd not Holdings" etc. stuff going on (I may have got that the wrong way around). Basically, there's bugger all trust between the two sides - don't expect this to be sorted out in a grown-up manner.

    Question Mark over Academy

Indeed. At the risk of derailing this, I notice that all talk of Wasps setting up a training facility in Coventry seems to have gone fairly quiet. Anyone up for an FOI request? ;) It's almost as if Wasps were telling the council what they wanted to hear with regard to spending millions of...

    Question Mark over Academy

Pretty much spot on from OSB I'd say. In truth the belief that I once held that the Higgs Trust was acting in the best interests of the club, has gone. If that ever was true, then clearly it's long since gone down the pan. Conversely it's clear that SISU only ever set out to look after...

    Question Mark over Academy

That's how I read this too. I'm not at all impressed with the Higgs's part in the Wasps shenanigans, but I can see the logic of what they are saying here. If they can make more money with something other than the indoor pitch, and the club are only going to commit to being at the centre for a...

Mowbray Until End Of The Season

It's a double-edged sword this, as with all short-term contracts. If he does well, there's every chance that he goes elsewhere and we're looking again. Saying that, even if he's signed a four-year deal there's the possibility of poaching - it's just that it seems more likely to be temporary in...

Personally, I find the tinfoil hat works for the voices. Now I just need something that will make the evil leprechaun go away - he's always there, sitting next to me, smiling. He wants me to burn things.

Didn't really see anyone celebrating in truth, but there was a bit of jumping the gun hereabouts I think. What will be more interesting will be the analysis, I suspect. That'll save us having to talk about football too much. ;)

Telegraph exclusive: Tony Mowbray up for City challenge

Blimey, I've never really been a fan of the web version of the CET which has always looked cheap and tacky to me. However it seems a bit harsh to me to fall out with a local paper because they throw out the odd opinion piece that I dislike, and support Wasps (which is not of necessity an...

How does Byng know that Otium's accounts have been submitted, unless he's in touch with Otium directly? And if he is in touch with them, and is serious about a bid, why does he need to wait for Companies House to review the accounts? As OSB says, anyone attempting a takeover will want to look...

Mowbray set to be announced shortly

More than happy with Mowbray if it turns out that way. A reputation for at least trying to play decent football, and has been around a bit. As torchy implies, we could do worse. However I am secretly disappointed that my Peter Reid/Bobby Gould 'dream team' suggestion hasn't been taken up by...

I'll be honest, getting more loan players in isn't really a big concern for me. Are we already over the limit for the number that we can field. The transfer embargo becomes a worry when we hit closed season, if it's in place then I'd say. At the precise moment I think the new manager will...

    Mobray rumour

Outside Tescos, holding a bib with "I dribble for Coventry City" is what I'd like to see in the 'new manager' pic. And given how things are going, I reckon I've got a good chance. :)

Good point - I hadn't thought about the period covered. It's been ages since I had to submit accounts, isn't it something like nine months after the close of the financial year - in which case we're talking Jun 13 to May 14 (ish) off the top of my head. The Northampton period won't tell us...

It doesn't seem like great business practice leaving it as late as possible before filing, but it's hardly unique as I recall - it could well be the usual last-minutery that SISU seem to enjoy, and they are actually at Companies House now. Having said that, I also wouldn't be surprised if Otium...
