Ultimately, I probably agree. By the end of his time with us he was very poor (if not in the pocket!), but it was another case of a player being painfully aware that the fans were on his back. He responded by trying too hard, not concentrating, and getting sent off twice. To some extent he was...

    Peterborough on Saturday

Always loved the Posh attitude of getting the best non-league players and diamonds in the rough. I'm pretty jealous that you took the punt on Tomlin where we faltered. And how's Taylor getting on off the pitch? Finally "keeping his nose clean"?!;)

    Baker is blind... ?

We could use him for the half-time entertainment; simply rename it "Kick Ken For Cash".

merry christmas to all sky blue fans everywhere

He probably wouldn't get my reference to this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Father_Christmas_(1991_film) Good old Raymond Briggs. Perfectly captured the idea of a grumpy Santa; I mean, if you only had to work one day a year, but had to cram that much work into it, you'd probably be pretty...

cwr travel update & oh sky blues

Yeah, I just listened to it on Iplayer. Ended up skipping about 20 mins for news and travel reports. I mean, it's nice to hear that Moira still works for them (she used to be based in my building ), but aside from that, I really don't need telling the travel news quite so often. Bah...

I'm more inclined to blame the players. Maybe it's not entirely their fault either-they just aint good enough. I think there is a pretty strong case for that viewpoint.

Well, at least he "had a punt"! For all that we can blame Richardson for launching us into the wilderness years with his delusions of grandeur, he also presided over a period which contains most of my cherished footballing memories. Which did you enjoy most: the Phil Neal side containing the...

    James McPake

Whatever position he's in, he's probably a good 6-7 matches away from being up to Championship pace. His last showing was rather embarrassing and poor Cameron was having to cover his man as well as his own. I suppose with us losing every game anyhow we may as well get him in and see if he can...

I remember when we used to look down on the likes of Wigan and Fulham from 4 divisions higher...I used to mock sides like Bolton for having the temerity to consider themselves a top flight side (5-1! :D). I'm not sure I entirely envy them as their castle looks to be built on sand. But we are a...

My view was that it was too late in July. It's certainly too late now. By that logic, it won't keep us up-if you want to sack Thorn so that we stay in The Championship this season, well, getting what you want won't get you what you want, so to speak.

No, but my next door neighbour bought a car off a guy whose sister once shagged him.

I dunno, at what point do you replace a man trying to reach Mars on a bicycle with a new cyclist?

So........has he gone yet, or was this yet another unfounded rumour based on my mate who drinks in the same place as a bloke whose vet is also the vet for a bloke who lives next door to someone whose brother went to school with a guy who is best mate now with a bloke who is married to a woman...

Yep, knew about Hunt and Doyle at the time. Doyle was lined up by Black, and rather than back him with the peanuts needed to sign him...we sacked him! Still, it must all be the managers fault, right? :p

Exactly, Wingy. But a more cerebral consideration of the depth of our malaise takes time, effort and thought. It's a lot easier to just try and blame the most visible public figure for everything, and go "Ugh...SACK THE MANAGER!"
