    Coventry City Transfer Disappointments

Yes, I meant awful management at board level tbh. Although Thorn managing the team certainly didn't help with avoiding relegation either!

    Coventry City Transfer Disappointments

We then repeated the feat 11 years later to get relegated from the Championship too: King, Gunnarsson & Westwood all left on frees, Turner for a relatively modest fee & then, just to make sure, Jutkiewicz followed them in January. Just awful management.

Indeed, wasn't a great fit for us but still think he's a good player & has done well at Barnsley. Ipswich throwing some money around this summer to try & finally get back to the Championship.

    21/22 Summer transfer mega-thread

Unusual one this but there's a rumour that Martin Cranie will be coming in as a trialist to make up the numbers for the upcoming friendlies this week. Whether there's any more to it than that remains to be seen. @better days @skybluebeast @Skybluebeliever Any of you heard this?

The Moore error isn't as horrendous as I feared when I read it on here. He could do better yes but the giveaway by Allen was far worse. These things happen a lot in pre-season friendlies though, calamitous gifts are almost the norm. As long as it's ironed out ready for 2 weeks time!

    Jamie Allen

Gifted them the 2nd didn't he? I've always liked him though & was thrilled when we signed him (bet on us to win the league the day he signed! 😁). Think League One might be his level though.

    Robins long term target

Clarke-Salter? Yeah, been at Chelsea since U9s

Fair enough, wasn't trying to be condescending, it's just you said the other day you'd never heard of Ian Maatsen which I was surprised by. Well, even if Lees was to take a 50% pay cut he'd still be our highest earner... What attributes does he have to warrant that apart from "experience"...

I like him. Was excellent in his first spell at Brum & like @SBAndy I was a big advocate for us signing him. He struggled with injuries a bit last season & of course Brum had that clown Karanka in charge for the most part too. He's naturally left sided & very comfortable in possession, would...

    Robins long term target

In what way is he better than what we have or better than the likes of Clarke-Salter as an example? He's a proper throwback 80's style defender, head & kick everything but woeful in possession. Even then McFadz pisses all over him in pretty much every relevant statistic. Its pretty clear from...

Good god, I hope not, we have far more ambition than that.

Eustace has turned down Swansea. Saved myself a few quid after all 🤣

It's certainly worded to sound like it's a CB in the interview as he speaks about him in the same conversation as Hyam, Rose & Bushiri: “For me there’s glaring areas we need to improve, and we will do.” “If I have got Hyam and Rose available then the picture changes slightly,” “There is one...

I'm not a huge fan of Walker as a lone man either but perhaps he wants to see Gyok & Waghorn together as a potential partnership? They've shown very promising signs so far. Nee isn't even featuring for the U23s at the minute, I assume injury/illness/isolation. I'd much rather Bapaga play his...

Probably, not sure it's just us though, way of the world in the current market unfortunately. I think we'd be happy to just free up the wages.

Understand your concerns but I wouldn't worry too much yet. 1) Where has he said that? Maatsen & a new CB are imminent & will almost certainly be first choice. 2) Wouldn't read too much into that. We only have the 3 fit forwards currently & understandably he wants to rotate & get minutes...

    Robins long term target

I was looking at him a couple of weeks ago, seemed certain he was going to West Brom then but that deal looks off. He is still being chased by much bigger clubs than us though so think it's a non starter.

Robins very quiet this pre season

Has he not given interviews after every friendly as well as numerous other updates in-between?

Good shout - certainly fits the bill & finally having a left footer in the back 3 would improve the balance massively. I believe we have been watching him for some time too so would tick the "long term target" box.
