Verdict on today and the future.

You see it never used to work, but then the game changed and now we are told that football clubs are "businesses just like any other that need to make a return for the investor". Once you start running a club/business like that, the fans become customers who are free to complain about the...

Verdict on today and the future.

Yet under Adams it was superb.

Verdict on today and the future.

In the 1961/62 season we were a mid table 3rd division team and our average attendance was 10k. In the 1963/64 season we were a top 3rd division team and our average attendance was 26k. Crowds went up by 16k in just two seasons, due to success on the pitch and management with ambition. There...

    Blame

I suppose before apportioning blame we must first work out what the problem is. Despite what everyone says its quite clear that the players aren't good enough. A team of good players wouldn't be at the risk of league 1 relegation on the final day. They might well be skilled players, but...

    Horrible feeling

I think we'll lose next week, but we will probably stay up with one of Crewe or Notts County not doing enough. Its still shocking though that its come to this and in any other business someone's balls would be on the BBQ for this failure.

    Is the Ricoh to big

Any player that gets "nervous" in front of a 14k crowd is not someone we want at our club. To quote a random fat tosser "they wouldn't have the right DNA".

    What needs to happen?

We're talking about mathematical possibilities here. All I said was, as it stands at the moment, we can draw next week and still go down. I don't see what there is in that statement to disagree with.

    What needs to happen?

I think they will rest their best players.

    What needs to happen?

Yes, they are on 48 now, so can get a maximum of 54. If they win their game in hand, we go into the final game knowing that only a win can guarantee our safety. A draw next week can still relegate us.

    What needs to happen?

Looking at the table I would expect Colchester to beat Swindon. Swindon have absolutely nothing to play for, and would be sensible to rest their best players in anticipation of the play offs.

    What needs to happen?

Not necessarily, Colchester can still overtake us. Colchester win both their remaining games, along with Crewe and Notts County, and we draw with Crawley, us and Crawley would go down.

    Crewe Match Thread

I'll rephrase it. Is this the first time since '97 we have gone into the final day not being safe? Anyway I have suddenly remembered the horror show at Charlton in 2008 so I have answered my own question

    Crewe Match Thread

Is this the first time since 1997 that we need to win our final game to stay up? I can't remember another season since then where we did. In both 2001 & 2012 we were already down by the final game.

Impossible for us to be safe before next week. Colchester are the only team with a game in hand, Crawley are in the relegation zone and can still overtake us. No Movement18 Coventry 45 -12 52 No Movement19 Crewe 45 -31 52 No Movement20 Notts County 45 -16 50 No Movement21 Crawley 45 -25...

    Relegation odds

It's still giving odds on Oldham to go down despite it being mathematically impossible!

Haven't won our last home game of the season since 2006.

    Crewe Match Thread

We could have done with Crawley winning today, I would rather play a team that only needs a draw to stay up rather than one that needs to win.
