    Next Seasons Confirmed Squad/Transfer Rumours

If Willis does go, and Davies stays I don't think we need a replacement, and would rather concentrate on filling other positions (right back for example). We will already have Davies, Hyam and Rose, with Drysdale, Thompson & Williams looking to make the step up from the under 23's.

Video Dion Dublin's message for Steve Ogrizovic

I honestly don't think anyone would give him stick now. Too much time has passed, and I think a lot of us that were around when he went to Villa now realise that Bryan Richardson engineered much of the bad feeling towards him. He got a good reaction a few years back when he was doing a...

    Our Best Ever Keeper ?

You're memory is failing you Houch. The game was against Wales, and it didn't slip through his hands, in fact he had no chance of stopping it. The goal is on YouTube (scored by Willie Donachie - check it out). Blyth during this period was the best keeper I've seen play for us. The own goal, and...

Match Thread Leeds U23 v Coventry City U23

I'm not sure the gulf in class would have been so apparent if we had also used under 23's from the 1st team squad - Mason, Shipley, Ponticelli or even Bayliss & Jones if they had been fit, never mind our loanees in Sterling, Enobakhare & Thomas (if eligible).

How old is Drysdale? He looks very comfortable on the ball, and on tonight's viewing I will be very surprised if he doesn't make the 1st team next season.

I take it you only watched extra time. In the first half Addai was bringing the ball out like he thought he was Beckenbauer :)

Leeds are a strong team, but our discipline has been excellent. I like Drysdale & Burroughs. Both are definite prospects.

Match Thread Leeds U23 v Coventry City U23

While I get that for development purposes this team are encouraged to play their football on the deck and from the back, it does result in playing some dangerous stuff at the back. When these lads make it into the first team against hard nosed League 1 footballers where the result is everything...

    Don Mackay

He was Bobby Gould's assistant during his first spell and took over from him. He managed us through the following season until he was sacked just before the end of the season, when Curtis & Sillett then took over and kept us up in another last game escape when we beat QPR.

    Hiwula on target

Fair enough, yes he is top scorer with 12 goals. If that is a statistic precious to you though, then 18 players have scored more league 1 goals than him, which kind of puts him in his rightful place in the league 1 pecking order, for this season at least. That said he has finished the season...

    Bright Enobakhare

Was that the group he sent training on their own at the memorial park? Trying to rack my brain about who else was in that bomb squad. Got a feeling Eustace and Joachim were among them, but can't remember exactly.

    Hiwula on target

This is a pretty good example for not taking stats at face value. Hiwula has had a strange season. He definitely has quality, and has contributed positively at times to the teams cause, but in certain games he offered very little, and missed a number of easy chances, some of which he hit...

Your Bad Days At A Match

Just looked it up and yes I think you're right, the Birmingham game was 1983/84 season. I remember we won and Terry Gibson scored, which also happened in the 1985/86 season, but the clincher was the report saying that Sam Allardyce broke Mick Harford's jaw. Until I read it again it was an...

Your Bad Days At A Match

The two I remember most were the midweek Cup Semi at West Ham in 1981. I was just turned 16, not very worldly wise & travelled by train from Rugby. They got a late winner & we left the ground thinking their fans would all be celebrating, but instead we had to run a gauntlet of flying fists and...

    Shipley or Bayliss at CM

Except for his poor tracking back for Sunderland's first goal, Shipley was excellent yesterday. It's only one game though, so deciding he is a better long term option than Bayliss is extremely premature.

Match Thread Sunderland vs. Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 13th Apr

By my reckoning our record against the 7 teams above us so far is Played 12, Won 7, Draw 3, Lost 2. If only we could have replicated that against the poorer teams in the league!!

What attendances will we get at "shared" home grounds ?

Why would more away fans go to Northampton than Birmingham? Northampton's maximum away capacity is 1,350 while St Andrews could fit up to 6,000 if needed.

What attendances will we get at "shared" home grounds ?

Don't know the maximum capacity feasible if it was Rugby but if it were say 6,000 I think we would pretty much sell that out.

    If we move

Incidentally I remember when the previous move to Northampton came around there was some talk about playing in Hinckley, as their ground was ok by non league standards. I know nothing about the ground, or whether it still exists as I think the club itself went bust but that would fall into an...
