Yes he did and replaced him with Terry Butcher. Paid good money for Butcher if I remember right. Not a great decision that in hindsight. Still, he has got to be one of the better chairmen we have had surely.

I was chatting with John Poynton, in a coffee shop, before the game. He is 80 years old (looks younger) and had come up from Jersey for the game.
