One positive out of this sorry mess?

I guess thats possible but its not as if Willis hasn't played. He's young but he's not a kid, has had a loan spell and played in the city first team. He was also quite obviously kept in the squad over the likes of Edge and Malaga. I know a lot of that has to do with cost but you'd like to think...

One positive out of this sorry mess?

The one thing I cant fathom is why Jordan Clarke is being played out of position whilst Willis idles on the bench? Unless its a fitness issue I can't understand it. Having shipped 10 goals you'd at least think about giving one of our few recognised centre halves a game wouldn't you?

One positive out of this sorry mess?

I know I feel the same but I will make some away games. I wonder what the rules are on changing your ground in-season? If by some miracle SISU sold up and we could go back to the Ricoh would we have to wait until next season?

One positive out of this sorry mess?

Struck me whilst reading the match report of the Bristol game that our sorry state of affairs has led to one positive of sorts - we now have an extremely strong contingent of young, local lads in the side. In our starting line up we had Cyrus, Jordan Clarke, Conor Thomas, Callum Wilson and...

ACL to sue NTFC, what happens now?

I believe the crux of the problem lies in the fact that Otium/SISU had done a deal to play at Sixsheds before the administration of Ltd had been resolved and whilst an offer of reduced rent was still on the table from ACL. So essentially Otium broke the lease agreement with ACL and NTFC are...

Preston Haskell at the Council yesterday ?

I cant imagine that any sporting franchise ACL could realistically bring in would make enough use of the stadium to be the sole tenants. Even if Rugby League did go to the Ricoh there is no reason CCFC couldn't play there as well.

Why did you become a Ccfc fan in the first place?

Born in Cov (at the Walsgrave naturally) lived in Wyken till the age of 6 when Dad was headhunted from Alvis to go and work at Austin-Rover as it was then so we moved to Worcestershire. Post-university I moved north but all my family are from Cov as is my wife and her family so we frequently go...

    Leyton Orient fan here

Cheers for the support LOFC1978. Don't share your optimism though, Moussa, Clarke, Baker and Murphy will likely be sold before much longer.

    Charity match update

I really wish I could be there but an inconsiderate family member has scheduled their kids christening on the same day and I cant get out of it :(

    Hat Tricks

Im not so sure, I wouldn't trade Wilson or Leon for Eastwood of Morrison, or Baker for McIndoe or Clingan.

    Hat Tricks

How many from that line up would you have back in the city squad given the chance? Westwood, Cranie, Best, Gunnar?

    Waggott on CWR this morning

Thats a good point, if we own their registration but don't register them in our squad can we still loan them out or sell them? Or does it effectively make them free agents (except of course we cant just show them the door)

City To Announce their First New Signing - Mathieu Manset

So offer a 12 month deal with a 12 month extension option, or a 2 year contract at most. No justification for a 3 year deal when the player in question was so untested. I expect he is earning a decent wage too.

Why do SISU still want Coventry City Football Club?

Which is why I firmly believe its all some kind of massive tax dodge/money laundering scam.

    Hat Tricks

Really? I was sure Mifsud scored at least one hat trick in his early appearances?

City To Announce their First New Signing - Mathieu Manset

We would be better off paying up whatevers left on his contract in full and showing him the door, at least we could bring someone else in then. Utter madness that an unproven player like that was given a 3 year contract.

City To Announce their First New Signing - Mathieu Manset

Bell was under contract and on a big wage so presumably we can bring in a replacement for him

City To Announce their First New Signing - Mathieu Manset

No, but take a look at the bench, Daniels is our only other striker and so far he's not managed to get on the pitch. If anything happens to Wilson or god forbid clarke................. gonna need another body, even if it is Manset.

City To Announce their First New Signing - Mathieu Manset

I imagine Hoofroyd will sign most of them for Northampton............... cobblers!......... no really.............

City To Announce their First New Signing - Mathieu Manset

Thats the worry. I think Manset can do a job and takes some of the pressure off Calum Wilson but we really need Leon to stay as well.
