Well I’m sure he’ll survive that hardship

But he is Brazilian. He just grew up in the Netherlands. No different to how we used to sing about McSheffrey “comes from Coventry” whilst he lived in Balsall Common

They’re f*cking football songs, not classical opera. What exactly are you expecting?

I disagree. In our league 1 winning season we would’ve hit 20k in the second half of the year if we’d been playing at home (and covid hadn’t hit)

More recently than Leicester getting it as an average Championship team

I’m pretty sure they didn’t lose a home game all season in league 1. Easy to keep your support in those circumstances. We’re currently getting higher crowds than they got when they won the Championship in 2014

You’d have to go back about 60 years to see Leicester getting 25k as a mid table/play off chasing second tier team

I’ve never known another club where some supporters consistently say how awfully we’re supported (without clarification as to why), and also say how wonderful our local rivals are. Frankly it’s very weird

The ground holds 32400 ish. That original 32.6k figure was when the ground first opened and there was no scoreboard.

Can you give me an example of where our support has dropped off quickly?

They aren’t even new fans anyway.

We’re nowhere near that yet, but it has to start from somewhere. This season is just about getting the logistics and safety of it right

Exactly that. We can’t be a consistently decent team and also be the plucky underdog

The way for it not to damage the atmosphere though is to open it for season ticket holders. That way everyone can sit in an area that suits them. The money lost from away fans is something that has to be sacrificed for the long term benefit of the club

    Atmosphere

Exactly that. Next season it will be the singing area. An extension of the corner. It’s foolish to not try and nurture new support when the capacity is there. Constantly offering 4k out to away teams is just nurturing their support. We’re using our ground to make our opponents stronger

Because attendances are growing. We’re in a Cup semi final Most of us believe next season we have a serious chance. Our fans aren’t fickle. They are the same as 90% of other clubs.

Sheff Wed Leicester Swansea Cardiff Leeds So that’s 5 games so far. How many times has away support exceeded 2500?

Atmosphere was always going to decline. We can’t hover in the top half of the Championship for 3 years and expect the atmosphere to be as good as it was in 2021. Expectations have changed. Were a different club

There was 3.7k empty seats. 1k of which was segregation, another 900 was empty seats in the away end, the remaining 1.8k were corporate and boxes that cost £25k

Championship average away following is about 1800. We’re averaging overall 25k. Demand is there now.
