Ben Wilson' race for the golden glove?!

Which goalkeeper had worse stats than Moore?

Kelly / Sheaf and Eccles / Allen

I have absolutely no idea about who he should go for in midfield. I'm guessing he'll start from an 'if it ain't broke don't fix it' standpoint and stick with the same starting XI. Nice to have options though.

Are you happy with the season

I would expect Southampton to be challenging for automatics. A lot of their younger players will be more comfortable at that level, while they can also call back Smallbone from Stoke who would probably walk into any other Championship side. The other teams you mention might take a while to get...

    Championship 22-23

Surely if 5 teams come in and all offer £17m why not reject them all? Common sense tells you at least one will want an edge over its competitors and offer a higher price. However, even if only one club comes in initially (which I think is unlikely) we should not accept the first offer that comes...

    IFollow question, Monday's game

If you are watching via i follow switch off any score alerts you might have set up as there is a time lag in the pictures, I would stay off the match thread on here too. Unless of course you like knowing in advance when a goal is about to be scored!

    Championship 22-23

In the absence of an obvious thread suggesting new signings in the Summer I see Norwich are releasing Dowell. He certainly played his part in tearing us apart at the CBS earlier in the season. Only 25 too! Sam Byram also released. Also reported that Cardiff Manager says they have no chance of...

Not selling Gyokeres in January was far more important than bringing in new players. That said we did bring in 3 new loan players, one of whom has been absolutely instrumental in helping us reach the play offs.

    Assuming we don’t go up

I'm not sure Gyokeres owes us anything. He could easily have angled for a move in the January window, and without him we would be nowhere near the play offs. It has been a pleasure watching him scare the life out of Championship defenders, and hopefully he gets to do the same in the PL with us...

HAMER: BEST MIDFIELDER IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP

Hamer is a much better player than Scott right now. The reason Scott is likely to command a higher fee is a combination of being English, being younger and having more potential to improve. Hamer could well be already at his peak!

    Blackburn ‘Player of the Season’

A very good servant to us, and a decent player too. Luckily we haven't missed him too much, particularly since McNally's arrival, but he would definitely have helped in the spell when McFadzean was injured and we leaked a lot of soft goals.

Who would you want in a play off final ?

I would happily take anyone right now if it meant we got to the final, but given a choice I'd rather avoid Sunderland as I would find the over blown hype a bit too much to bear. Not sure Millwall would be too much fun either!

I spent my school years in Rugby and left in 1983 when I was 18. The coaches ran from about 1981 to 1983 and was my introduction to away games. There were about 250 members of the supporters club in Rugby at that time, and I remember they had quite a lot of events where City players and staff...

So what we saying for next week

A shame Sunderland got that late goal, as it would have allowed us scope to rest Gyokeres and Hamer. As it is we can't take that chance, even though it might well turn out we have enough points already.

Love the bit at the start where the young lad is so in awe of Gyokeres :)

It probably has a majority of those that actually go to football matches. In the early 80's there were plenty supporting the big clubs in Rugby but they were mostly plastic and never went to games (not even when they played us at HR). Cov had an active supporters club though, ran by a couple of...

Can we get a point at Boro?

They are right more times than they are wrong, but they are nevertheless regularly wrong!

Its not just an attacking ploy though. It also slows the game down, making it a more scrappy stop start affair, and so making it more difficult for 'footballing' sides to get into a rhythm of play.

    Championship 22-23

While I tend to agree, and only see them as a minor threat, the experience of the last 2 seasons doesn't suggest the goal swing to West Brom is unsurmountable (check out Bristol Rovers last season and Forest the season before).

    So what’s permutations please

My gut feeling at the moment is that Blackburn will find it very difficult at a pumped up Den, regardless of their result against Luton beforehand, so am expecting a Millwall win. In regards of Sunderland, I imagine their fans will dominate the atmoshere at Deepdale too, where I can see them...

Teams that have a long throw specialist tend to over do it though, and seem to end up relying on it as their main attacking tactic. That's certainly the case with Birmingham. I'm also not sure its good for the development of players like Bellingham jnr, when the sole attacking aim is to play it...
