    Player ratings v Oxford

I was surprised he took it given he didn't take one of the semi final penalties last season. Eccles has been clinical when taking penalties at Wembley and in the cup earlier this season and for me would have been the logical taker from the players on the pitch at the time.

    Championship thread 24/25!

I fully expect to MR to park the bus next week. If we don't score early it could be a frustrating watch.

If Wright is on the bench I would have thought Paterson is as likely to drop out as anyone.

    Frank or Mark?

Walking away from Wembley after the semi final I tried to console myself with the thought that at least it saved us the embarrassment of a cup final tonking by Man City, which would now surely be the fate waiting Man United instead. However come cup final day Man City were shot through and...

    Supporters forum - 13 March

Linked to this - are the club going to make adult tickets in the Family Zone the same as elsewhere next season? Another thing mentioned recently was whether the club would consider introducing a CCFC museum or Hall of Fame along the lines of the 2 Tone museum on Ball Hill.

Match Thread Oxford United - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 1st Mar

It's a shame if its true that one of our posters went on their forum to give them the heads up on our fans buying tickets in their end. Not sure what was he was hoping to achieve!

    Cov v Stoke

Stoke are clearly a poor team, but MR ought to know our players strenths and weaknesses well enough to potentially make it difficult for us. A nice early goal could be more important than usual.

    Chris Jones and Joe Edwards

Hi Josh, shouldn't you be concentrating on your cricket?

Spotting fellow Cov fans in the wild

Sounds like you're a bit of a sucker for tall stories, particularly given the John Barnes one! Professional footballers are a completely different level, even ones that are generally considered poor by supporters, and the chances that Carsley was just a workhorse at school seems pretty unlikely...

    Vote of Confidence

I think your odds on Knowl are a bit short, given the Russell Slade type job he did on GMK.

    The dom hyam sale

That's poor planning by Blackburn if he is.

    The dom hyam sale

I don't now. There were plenty of posters like you who slagged him off. He seems to have done pretty well since he left us and has had a good Championship career. I suspect if Blackburn were to sell him in the Summer they would make a tidy profit!

    Cov v Stoke

Must be a very new stat! Would be very surprised if anyone had more 'assists' than Tommy Hutchison in the time I've been watching us.

Are we going to "shit" our way up!?

If we want to bring in Sheaf and Wright when they are fit, as well as EMC I don't think we have much choice than to play 4-3-3. It would seem daft to me to have Lati playing at the expense of EMC or Wright so that we can continue playing 3 centre backs.

    Player ratings v sheff weds

The thing is that over half your posts are spent slagging off Eccles, even when he was playing better earlier in the season. He really isn't as bad as you think he is!

    Player ratings v sheff weds

Not sure I agree. MVE certainly didn't have a good game, but until Saka came on he had no support against winger and wing back as Lati was reluctant to move over to the right. His chasing after the loose ball at the end of the game and keeping it alive also led to the winner, even if the keeper...

    Overrated players

He was as good as his legendary status suggests! We certainly wouldn't have been better by playing Houchen week in week out, or later on Drinkell. Our main problem after the cup win was that he was our only major buy. We were crying out for a decent left back, and signing one would have had us...

    Eustace to Derby

I remember there being plenty of posters calling for Bloomfield, Edwards and the Oxford manager that got sacked to replace Robins. I suspect however if Lampard hadn't taken the job, Eustace would have been next in line.

    Overrated players

I was one of those that wanted him given his chance at the time. His goals record in the academy was just so good that it seemed nuts not to give him a chance when we were struggling for goals. When he did play he also scored a couple of goals that made him look like a natural finisher, albeit...

    Overrated players

It does seem that a lot of posters on here didn't understand the OP's question!! The most overrated for me was Richard Shaw. How a player of such limited ability played so many games for us in the PL is astonishing.
