    Hughton sacked...could MR be a target ?

Hopefully he is wise enough to remember the last time he left us, and then had to start again at Scunthorpe (which didn't go all that well) I see no reason why we couldn't challenge for promotion this or next season, with what he has built here, team spirit, coaching staff etc.

Match Thread Cardiff - Home - wednesday the 15th

Definitely need a 2nd. Those launches into the box are dangerous from Cardiff. We retreated a little too much for my liking after the goal, and Robins will need to use the bench early tonight as I thought a few players looked a little tired at the end of the half.

U23 game at Higgs today 1pm

90 mins for Bright and Jodi. Excellent. Get these 2 up to speed, and we have serious game changers on the bench. Potentially our bench in a week or so could include Walker Godden Kelly J.Jones Bright Kane

    Loan Watch

Bapaga had some nice touches, but wasn't tracking as you say for the 1st and 2nd goals. Commentator brilliant... "It's the equalizer, or is it? Yes it is" "Come on" "Where's the marking" "Asking for the penalty, and getting it" "Red Card....YES" "Draw him....Draw Him....YES"

    Kelly injury update

Kelly is always written off, as he's always injured at the beginning of the season, but then when starts playing everyone remembers what a good player he is, and the results pick up. Great to have him back in the squad.

    Missing : Bright

I'm sure we've negotiated the contract in the club's favour. If he's messing around, contract cancelled. Everything is speculation. I heard he picked up a knock

    Match Thread Reading

Thought we started really well, but Reading slowed the game down and frustrated us. Have to admit at half time I didn’t see us winning the game, I thought the team looked a little tired from Tuesday’s efforts. My god though, this team grinds away, relentless pressure on Reading 2nd half...

    Waghorn.....

I thought he looked lively in the first 20-25 mins but was clearly knackered by the 2nd half. On the evidence so far he’s 4th choice striker, which makes his signing all the more strange, could of given Biamou another year

    Ratings v Reading

Moore 7 McFadz 8 Hyam 8 - Excellent today against the team who released him Dabo 7 - Not a centre back, but his cross led to equaliser. Pask and Drysdale must be finished here not to make the team today Da Costa 6 Maartsen 7 Hamer 7 Sheaf 8 O’Hare 7 Gyk 7 Waghorn 6 - He doesn’t look fit to me...

    21/22 Summer transfer mega-thread

To be fair to Da Costa, it was a horrible time to be introduced, with Blackpool ramping up the pressure, and playing on his least preferred side.

    Robins era best signing

Kelly - Considering he was a Non League player when signed (Orient had been relegated) this was a class move Biamou - Plucked from Non-League and was an important player in getting us promoted from League 2 McFadz - Exactly what we needed. A hard, no nonsense centre back.

    Zain

Think we have a definite upgrade in Sheaf, who can pass the ball but also has some grit. As someone else said above, in the right team, and role he could probably play in the Championship (certainly League 1) but how many all out passing teams are there in these 2 leagues?

    Match Thread Reading

Despite the great win last night, Blackpool did open us up 3 or 4 times. I can't decide if that's because they are actually a decent team, or if we're still not great defensively, and Reading score goals. I'll go for 2-2

Match Thread Blackpool away Match thread

One of the worst games I have ever watched. After the glory of the Playoff final a few months ago, this was down to earth with a bump. Max going off with an ACL, to be replaced by Baka who then was substituted. Don't think we created anything.

    Jake Clarke-Salter

I think we have seen flashes of Da Costa's ability when he's on form. However his performance away at Norwich on his debut last season (1st half) was shocking, but then he was probably the best player on the pitch 2nd half. If Robins and Viveash can work on his consistency, he could be a decent...

    Out the door

I always liked Shipley in League 1 & 2. A midfielder with an eye for a goal, left footer etc. However last season he really seemed lost at times, and his better performances at the end of the season (goals against Huddersfield & Millwall) might of papered over the cracks. I would keep Allen at...

    Ben Sheaf Assist

He oozes class, and will only get better. I thought we missed him at the tail end of last season. Need a grafter alongside him, so he can dictate play which is his game. Hamer is not that player, and should be further forward, I would imagine Kelly will be the man when he's fit, allowing Hamer...
