Way before then in fairness. World Cups in Italy in 1938 and Argentina in 1978 are just the immediately obvious ones. Football administrators generally never had much of a social conscience. It's just so blatant now, though. Infantino will crawl up the arse of every autocrat he meets.

Yeah, sorry, edited post; realised after posting you weren't passing comment on your own thoughts, rather speaking more generally.

Fwiw, I don't judge fans for not boycotting; football support is ingrained over decades, you can't switch off love for a club any more than you can for a person. Football supporters also can't be blamed for who owns their clubs. What stuck in the craw with Newcastle was just how much they...

He's not. He might be right that the majority wouldn't care (there's no 'might' about that, unfortunately), but not that no-one would, or that of those voicing disapproval, that it would be insincere. Speaking for myself only, I could not with good conscience put money into a club with links...

The whole quote. I've highlighted the relevant bit for you. "The reality is if the club succeeded no one would care - some will pretend to - but they will just still go anyway." hth.

Some might, some will care, and act accordingly. You do not speak for all.

Blog CCFC Analysis - End of Season Player Report Card

Agreed, but often I felt this was down to the gaps we leave for teams to run into, and that's down to system, not individual defenders. Having a bloke off the street in goal for us for a spell also accentuates defensive frailties.

Does he have to be a traditional winger to prosper in this system? The issue, as I see it, isn't that it's hard to accommodate him, but that when he's off form, you carry him.

I agree with a lot of that, but not with your ratios. He's on it way more than one in ten, and it's not the majority of the time, it's phases. Start of last season, end of this. He's crap as the number 9, though. He's an old-school inside left, where he prospers.

He doesn't. When he's on it he looks as good as his stats suggest he is. He can be a thoroughly entertaining player to watch. I've said this before, and it might be wrong, because obviously I don't know the man, but he seems to have the personality type that that he goes within himself when...

    Transfer Rumour Jonathan Panzo

He was one of those that looked ok if he had Fadz telling him what to do through the game, but on his own, he was lost. It was that Wrexham game when he was the central one of the three. I've never seen a player so confused by such rudamentary tactics. "Good God, they're pumping it high into...

BTA clearly more effective than Bassette overall. Kitching was out of the side for (presumably) non-football reasons, but finished strongly. Harsh on him. Wright had a poor end to the season, but possibly the play-off performances clouding opinion? He was very good before injury. Dovin also...

    A genuinely awful defender.

    Parking the bus......

And the club was one of the worst run in football, the manager is a joke and there aren't any depths the club has plummeted to. Apparently football doesn't drop any lower than upper mid-table in the third tier.

    Media darling clubs

The media have always had a huge thing for North East teams generally, hyping them beyond what you'd expect considering their achievements down the years. At least part of it is down to the undeniably large support that clubs from the region garner. I don't think people there are particularly...

    Scumberland or Shitefield ?

But they were. The only time we even looked like breaking through was immediately after they scored. We've no answer to those tactics. It's something that has to be worked on in the summer.

    Scumberland or Shitefield ?

In what way? Overall we were unlucky based on the second game, but to say that we outplayed them over two legs is just plain wrong.

    Scumberland or Shitefield ?

But we didn't. Second leg we were unlucky, but first leg they did a job on us and were by far the better team.

    Parking the bus......

Oop, here's the entitled prick who thinks his club the worst run in world football. Happy to chat to opposition fans, the other Sunderland fans that have rocked up here seem pretty decent and knowledgeable. You're just a brain-fart with verbal diarrhoea, however. The chances of anyone actually...
