    Sunderland pubs

They're just like everyone else. They have their dickheads, but so do we. Their forum is strange, but many internet forums are. I lived there for a bit; it's a bit insular (which is part of the reason they have very good local support), but not unwelcoming in the main. Never had a problem being...

You were very unlucky but don’t be too downbeat

You're so desperate to tell us that. It's almost as if you really care what we think. I know you're trolling (without much wit, unfortunately), but sadly for you Forest and Derby only have eyes for each other.

You were very unlucky but don’t be too downbeat

Apropos of nothing, but Portman Road is my favourite ground for watching football in. The steep banked stands are brilliant. Never seen us win there, mind.

    The morning after...

It was only a few days ago that you were dribbling that your club was one of the worst run in the country, and there were no depths that it hadn't plummeted to. All of this to a support base whose club was exiled from its own city twice in the last 15 or so years, and genuinely looked to many of...

    Centre Forward

That's blatantly not true. What he does is go into himself when he's not on it, and doesn't battle. Whether that's against a good team or a weak team, or a big game or a run-of-the-mill game doesn't make any difference.

Anyone had a look at the highlights yet?

Wasn't just Wright's chance (which was from an absolute peach of a cross). There were little moments where things didn't quite fall. Rudi had a chance very close in that he did well to scoop over the keeper, but also just over the bar; Saka found in space right in front of goal, but the ball...

    Thomas & Kitching

That's down to the formation (and a dodgy keeper) more than Thomas and Kitching.

    Will we ever

Well, that's the issue for clubs like us, or Middlesbrough, or Sunderland and the like. None of us can compete financially with the parachute payment teams, so it's always going to be a battle for the playoffs, then hope that you get that little bit of luck you need to get through them.

    Will we ever

Literally fine margins in the case of the cup semi. Teams with 'loser mentalities' don't get to play in these kind of games. Calling it that is idiotic hyperbole. The verbal equivalent of a toddler having a tantrum because it hasn't got exactly what it wants.

    Wright and Simms

Gimoc alludes to a lot of things, but you may as well listen to the cat. Fwiw, I don't think he's downed tools (Wright, not gimoc), it's just his personality; he loses heart easily and rather than scrap, goes within himself. It was the same when he arrived. He's bit lily-livered, but he's also...

    Will we ever

Yes, really. If you think coming out on the wrong side of the most fine margins is 'bottling it', then I can't help you.

    Lampard

He isn't going. He needs this to be a success.

    The morning after...

First leg they did a job on us, but were still extremely fortunate to get a victory. Last night they were second best by a considerable distance, and very lucky to get to extra time. Overall, I thought we looked the better team (which we probably are, just), though with very obvious...

    Will we ever

    That's an idiotic statement.

    Lampard

They were awful. Not objective at all.

    Will we ever

Sulk away. But describing consistent appearances in genuinely massive games, positive results, an engaged fanbase and a squad that genuinely seems to care about playing for us as 'dark days' makes you sound like.... well, a Sunderland fan, frankly.
  17. Shannerz

    Will we ever

These aren't dark days! They're by far the best they've been since we were in the Prem!

    Sakamoto

My favourite player. Always leaves everything out on the pitch. You can't ask for more.

    Wright

Letting yourself be bullied by a man half your size who's your opponent's weak link is a very strange way to try to win a move. When he's on it, he can be unplayable, but if it's not going his way, he loses heart and fight. At this point, I do not know if the good outweighs the bad. Do you...
