    Binks v Kitching

Think that's the key thing, really - given that he left Spurs (iirc) for first team football, I suspect that playing second or third fiddle isn't really his bag.

    Binks v Kitching

The thing I like about Kitching is that when he wins a tackle, the ball stays at his feet more often than not. He just wins it so cleanly. It's like some kind of magic act. Bink looks classy, but I get a bit of an Elliot Ward vibe at times.

    Penalties

Prefer the Stuart Pearce style penalties, tbh. Blast the net apart, or knock the keeper's head off. But regardless of style, if it goes in, it goes in, and that's all that really counts.

Match Thread Coventry City v Oxford United - FA CUP 3RD ROUND - 6th January 12:30

I almost want one of the middling Premier League team in the next round, only so we can see how close we are to their level in readiness for next August.

Match Thread Coventry City v Oxford United - FA CUP 3RD ROUND - 6th January 12:30

One of the most complete and entertaining performances in this competition that I've seen us give for years.

    Transfer Rumour Haji Wright

This is one of the weirdest tables I've seen, but Haji Wright (5th) and Tatsuhiro Sakamota (15th) are supposedly 2 of the top 20 Championship players who increase the chances of goals for their team.

    Ayari

I suppose that fella from Palace who was sent back after about a week was a bad loan, too. Was that last season?

    Ayari

Who actually is in our top ten worst loans? I assume Wes Brown's brother, for one?

    Transfer targets

Pretty sure Swift spoke about our bid after the window closed and said he wasn't interested in coming to us anyway. Edit: "As soon as I found out I rung my agent and told him I didn’t really want to go"

Rooney is fired up for Friday night

I was going to say that Rooney's quite dour and uninspirational, but actually there are shades of Mark Robins in his approach. Apart from the ability to galvanise a squad, win games, get promoted, deal with adversity, and outperform expectation. But apart from that, they're quite similar.

    Boro Ratings

Apparently Josh Eccles is our best 'key passer', ranking 15th in the Championship. Counterintuitively, Jay Dasilva is our next highest (17th in Championship)!

    Team Spirit

Team spirit seems to have grown even more over the past few weeks. Obvious that everyone in the camp absolutely adores Tatsu, MvE seems to have taken over smiling role from Gustavo (he geta real joy from interacting with the support, and is somehow always amongst the first to celebrate with a...

    Who’s Next?

Yes, I was a goalkeeper from school days to my 30s - I wasn't very good, but that's besides the point. He parries back into the box too often for my liking, and I think he loses his bearings at times. Not saying he's bad, but I doubt he'd get a game for a Leicester or Leeds, and that's who we...

    Who’s Next?

To be fair, the post was asking for which position to upgrade, so the whole point of it is to judge the players. Wilson has been roundly ridiculed for several years on here, so I'm not convinced Collins is being treated harshly in comparison, to be honest.

    Who’s Next?

The 2 year contract is a very fair point. Perhaps it's a balance of the two.

    Who’s Next?

In answer to the original question, I'd replace Collins as things stand. I have doubts about his positioning, and he parries the ball back into the box too regularly for my liking. Not saying he's bad, or that he won't develop, but as of now I get 'dodgy keeper' chants stuck in my head.

    Who’s Next?

I've banged this drum a few times, but I genuinely believe Godden was kept for team cohesion purposes rather than his ability. And I say that as a big fan of his.

    Defensive record

Am I right in thinking Dennis Lawrence does the defensive coaching? Since we moved up to the Championship, that's one area of the team that just clicks nicely into place after a few months of the season. And hopefully, if we have a fairly settled back line for the next few years, we'll become...

Player of the Season so far

We're now at the halfway mark after 23 games. We've had some low points and, more recently, some highs. So who is your player of the season so far?
