    Our Finances

I read earlier today that Birmingham City's new stadium will cost upwards of £3 billion!

    Our Finances

I suspect it was as there is a mortgage on the property, unless the mortgagee was the previous owner and the mortgage is to secure deferred consideration for the purchase.

Does anyone else feel that we’ve been sold short ?

    I think it's VERY unlikely but. . . . . 😆

Does anyone else feel that we’ve been sold short ?

I read recently that he was on £7,500 a week with us, so not one of our bigger earners. I have no idea if this is correct.

Does anyone else feel that we’ve been sold short ?

So we could still lose Haji then? After all, he came to us from Turkey . . . . . 😳

    My take on the window

I agree. Just Sakamoto and Simms really. The only other thing we could do is to push Torp or Rudoni further forward, although Torp is better shooting from around the edge of the box and Rudonin is better bursting into the box much as O'Hare used to.

    My take on the window

Quite right. I meant last "year" as it was towards the end of the 23/24 season. I'm not negative and I want him to be brilliant for us but I was a bit concerned about some of the comments I have seen. My views might have been a bit skewed by the fact that he was, at best, our third choice CB...

    My take on the window

I only said, "We will see". Obviously I hope that he is. Quite a few (though I would say a minority) of Ipswich fans are pleased he has been shipped out. I've not see him play, as he was an unused substitute in the league game at the CBS last season (which doesn't exactly inspire confidence)...

They are not. Just free agents until January. P.S. Sparks posted while I was typing 🙂

    My take on the window

I have had a look on the Ipswich fans forum. A few are saying "good riddance" to Woolfenden but most are sad to see him go. The consensus seems to be that he is an experienced, calm, dependable CB. He may be just what we need but I wonder if he is really much of an upgrade on Bidwell. We will see.

    Were are we now?

He has shown some ability to get past defenders and put in a decent cross. It's not guaranteed that he will work there but FL - who has seen far more of him that you or me - obviously thinks he can. I doubt that he will be an out-and-out attacking left wing but remember what I said: Seeing...

    Were are we now?

I totally agree. I think most footballers should be capable of playing in more than one position. Dion Dublin was a great example of a player who made a big change and was very successful at CB.

    Were are we now?

FL obviously seems to think he can play there and from the little we have seen I think he is capable of doing a job. He is a good option to bring on (or push forward if he started) for EMC - or Haji if he's playing there - in games where we need to protect a lead.

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

I reckon the key problems we faced were (a) other clubs not being prepared to sell the players we wanted (Charlie Hughes being the most obvious example) and (b) the market being significantly inflated, no doubt due in part to Birmingham and Wrexham. Apart from at full back we haven’t added any...

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

I think FL sees the potential of Rapha. Clearly he doesn't rate Bassette. A loan for Rapha may be a good thing for his development.
