I doubt he will come, as he probably has his sights set on higher things. It’s a shame as I think he could have performed miracles for us. He’ll probably sign for Saints. 🙂

I reckon that, age wise, he is just what we need. Plenty of experience but nowhere near past it. Indeed, for a CB, he’s probably just entering his prime years. I agree we are unlikely to make a profit on him but if he helps to get us into the Premier League that is an irrelevance.

I disagree. As a CB he could easily have another ten years at Championship level.

I reckon Luke Woolfenden is a decent buy. I would rate him at least as highly as Thomas and Kitching and he will provide competition rather than just be cover.

I'm hoping that we win today and Stoke and Middlesbrough both fail to because then we will be top 🙂 Could that be the small thing (think straws and the back of a camel) that makes Hughes decide that we are the club for him 🙂

Obviously it's a different scenario if he's unhappy. You did say "a few seasons ago" so he may feel differently now he is older. He will probably struggle to play 90 minutes now given his level of intensity. I think he is still a good option as a squad player.

Where's Our Man In The Hedge at Ryton when you need him? At the very least I need to know about any incoming helicopters. 🙂

I would quite like to keep him. He's a decent enough player and always gives his all for us. With Eccles and Sheaf out we are suddenly looking a bit thin in midfield. Our only other senior option at the moment is to play Lati there and he's injured as well.

I agree. He hasn't been great for us, to say the least, but I hope he can rediscover the form that tempted us to buy him.
