Match Thread Bristol Rovers (Friendly) Match Thread

It's almost like some people have never witnessed a pre season game before, they are all like this. Why are we over analysing a glorified training session? We're playing fine anyway. Couldn't give a shit if we weren't, it doesn't mean a thing.

Weird comparisons some people make. Somebody might make one trip to these attractions once every 5 years on average. If people are going to make a comparison with other leisure activities (it doesn't really work at all, but let's roll with it) it would be better to compare it to something...

    Matchday Ticket Prices

State of season ticket holders who've paid £18 per game telling exiled fans being asked to pay £46 (£164 for a family of 4) for certain games to pipe down 😆. People will swerve those games now, so a false economy. I might be wrong on that, but I think it has crossed a line that people won't be...

Exactly. It's why all other clubs offer healthy concessions. We're the only one that doesn't. Apparently we know best though.

This won't finance new signings. All it will do is piss people off. We averaged about 5800 paying customers per game last season (inc away fans). Every reason to suspect this might reduce a bit. The uplift will generate a few hundred grand tops. Who we buying? We could spunk that on a squad...

It's the cat a prices that are crazy. Under 12s at Leicester for their cat A games start at £7 and highest is £15. We have a blanket £35 price for young kids. Adult prices are eye watering as they are, but to charge that for young children if totally out of sync with the rest of the league.

    Matchday Ticket Prices

Of course people are surprised. We didn't sell out a number of cat a games last season when kids were charged £25. We're now charging up to £35. It's a massive surprise. Increase in STs is minimal, the ground plan and available seats doesn't look much different to last season. We're not selling...

    Matchday Ticket Prices

We're talking the top A and A+ prices. We'll get a decent gate against Hull, but as soon as the first cat a+ game comes around people will swerve it and I hope they do. £36 for kids for a 12.30 televised game against blues early in the season is not the draw you think it is.

£100 bet to charity we don't.

    Matchday Ticket Prices

We're getting a bit carried away as a club. We introduced and charged for a st waiting list before we'd sold out and then didn't sell out anyway. Now we announce the highest prices outside of the PL, probably in Europe outside of a few elite clubs. All this at a club that last season had only...

People defending this, because they simply cannot bring themselves to criticise the club in any way, need to give their head a wobble. £35 for kids? It's outrageous.

There's no net increase for safe standing so would be the same I imagine. Guessing it is doable if there was the will and the need, although you'd probably lose a bit with additional exits etc.

Yes, I'm playing with AI a bit too much tonight, but this is apparently a 39,000 capacity CBS, achieved by adding 7 additional rows and lowering the pitch.

    season ticket sales

Yep. Actually quite a lot you could do with it because of the minimal design. Build out and up and completely change the look. The AI effort below is a bit ambitious, couldn't happen with current ownership, stadium or club, but it's a nice thought.

Re expansion, not that it's on the cards, but we could easily add 3-4K by simply lowering the pitch and adding 3 or 4 rows at the front. Fans closer to the pitch too. Much lower cost that adding an upper tier. Would probably need to build out a bit to increase concourse space though. Not a...

What's that, just over £3 million after Brighton get their share? Still, better than a kick in the nads.

    Item 25/26 Coventry Kit

Looks like something a 3rd set GCSE graphics student would produce with only word clipart to work with. I'm not the target audience, so my view is irrelevant, but that's awful. It's so bad I almost like it.

    CBS

Stopped a couple of days ago. This this might just be a small section behind where the new sign is going. Not sure if they do the rest, straight away at least.

Nobody has ever said that have they? Up until mid 90s crowds were much different to now. When we played Chelsea in the PL in 93/94 at Stamford Bridge the gate was 8000. Crowds did rise in the later PL years, last 3 season we were at 20-21K average, maybe they are referring to that brief period...
