I think TM will sign a three or four in the 28-31 bracket, probably who he has managed before, then you will see three or four who are younger with potential to develop.
He will finish it off with two to three long term loans.
Add a bit of luck and no major injuries and we might be contenders.
i am not implying Maddison is greedy at all, he hasn't left us and cannot control the interest he has courted. My point is he is better to develop here and gain experience rather than sink in a pool of Premiership talent where you will always be secondary to a chequebook. If he is good enough...
The major point is develop your potential, in any career don't get yourself promoted to soon, only move to the next level when you are capable and have the experience.
Not to be underestimated. I remember Pressley saying we were very quiet as a team. I could have forgiven Websters legs if he had been vocal, organised the defence and commanded the ten foot of space around him.
your team mates are the eyes in the back of your head, the ones that tell you not...
The biggest problem here is blurred boundaries and undefined roles. Pressley was lacking but carried the can for other people's decisions. As Mowbray has highlighted the infrastructure doesn't support staff..that includes inexperienced managers...hence three weeks of negotiation by Mowbray who...
Like Baker then, hardly professional? But the question remains did Pressley drop the axe or was it higher up :censored:
this is the sort of thing TM is trying to address; a professional environment that pulls in one direction, that instills high standards while acknowledging the history and...
all these things go hand in hand. But they have to start with the club owners. As TM has said you have to build a professional environment to support the staff and build from there. He has also said he won't be asking for fans to dig in their pockets. He respects the club history and fan...
I don't want to open a SISU CCC debate but it is interesting Ann Lucas said "they offered no viable plan" around development. I think they should have done what Wasps have done and in effect bought the Ricoh. wasps seem to have the nouse to know how to finance it where SISU didn't.
back to...
Wallace, Babb, Gillespie, Paddon, Mortimer, Holmes, Thomas, Thompson, Blockley, Sealey just off the top of my head and then we can start looking at players careers at other clubs.....
no it is not harsh, not anymore harsh than the "perilous career". I think the best way to develop his career is to get real time playing time, his best chance of that is with Coventry City. If he wants to take the money as soon as he can, good luck to him. But I won't morn his departure...
Can I just interject in this productive debate.
until SISU come up with a site or buy some land or even commit to some sort of rental at The Ricoh; only then can we start to analyse the possibilities. At the moment it is no more than a 6th form economic debate.
SISU have made contradictory...
well there lies the truth, is he only after ther money or is he serious about a football career? It is his choice and if he just wants money bye bye is what I say.
I think he is as capable as anyone of putting our club back on the right lines and making us competitive within a realistic budget.
But within any refurbishment there are hidden pitfalls; injury, people off form, owners not being straight, who you really want not available and perhaps most...
Look Maddison either stays with us and develops or he goes and gets forgotten within 12 months.
He needs to check the careers of Davenport and Barton to mention two of thousands!!
