They're saying it's a calf injury. I would imagine his calves take longer to heal than most, as they have a serious amount of weight to carry (imagine the impact they are taking when he jumps and lands).

Fleetwood - Joey Barton new manager

Headed to look for this thread - can't stand the bloke. Pretentious, odious man, thinking he is some sort of intelligent icon. Sort of bloke who would wave a wad of notes in your face in response to any questioning of his behaviour. I await newspaper headlines of bust ups and discord. As Wingy...

    Tonight’s games

Agree - that's why I stated definite top 7. Top 3 should be definite aim. Missing top 7 would be an abject failure, having had a 'look' this season - no excuses, as he can also see where we are currently lacking. If we lose Bayliss and Doyle's legs potentially give out, he is going to have to...

    Tonight’s games

Saddo that I am, I've trawled through the Wycombe news trying to find out more about Akinfenwa's injury. Fans on their forum seem to want their club to keep quiet so as to keep the opposition guessing as to how to set up against them. From a personal point of view, I hope his season is over...

    Tonight’s games

Wouldn't be the end of the world.. Think we will be just as strong next year and maybe MR a little more streetwise about his squad/this division. I would expect a definite top 7 next season if we don't go up this year - even allowing for departures.

    Tonight’s games

I think we would all fancy being drawn against Wycombe now if Akinfenwa is out for the season - they are very average without him.

    Playoffs

May have to use the squad over a 2 leg game with matches close together - remember when we played Yeovil at home on the Monday following the Friday game (when Yeovil were fresh / and good!) I know the other team will have just played us and will have similar issues, but we have a bigger squad...

    Playoffs

Yes-but only ost by a goal, which may be enough. Any side will want the backing of their fans. Much worse to be away at Exeter needing a resut and only be able to hear the home fans plus the potential influence on the ref for decisions.

    Cheltenham Away

He's heard about some/loads who are going to get them in the home end (as you have pointed out, they are not on sale yet!)

Match Thread Coventry City at Crawley Town Match Thread - Saturday 14th Apr

Agree with above comments, but a game we have won 1-0 that we could easily have lost 1-0, the result from the same match influences massively how we feel about how the team has played (well it certainly colours my judgment, and I consider myself fairly sanguine when the game is over).

Actual Carl Baker Day - It has happened!

Not necessarily the Morecambe match (or even Cheltenham -albeit less likely- if results went for us)

Actual Carl Baker Day - It has happened!

If we did well over the next couple of games and cemented our place, it would be good to give him a first team game (assuming he's already had an U23s run out) as we still haven't sorted the right hand side out. That said, if we've won the previous games, will MR want to change things? Perhaps...

'Up to 40 men' brawl and 'smoke canisters lobbed' in town centre Looking forward to the Cheltenham match, but had to smile when there is what sounds like organised violence between Cheltenham and Forest Green - the world's gone mad!!

Match Thread Coventry City at Crawley Town Match Thread - Saturday 14th Apr

Agree - the win today allow us to cock up one game and still have fate in our own hands, which is a bonus!

    Are we going up?

Still think Mansfield have 2 'gimme' home games and Yeovil away (who knows which Yeovil will turn up?) Fancy us to beat Stevenage an Morecambe (so a win v Lincoln or Cheltenham should suffice). Lincoln I can only see blowing getting in if we beat them (which I would love, as they are probably...
