    New Stadium Announcement!!!!!!

The location is a bit of a masterstroke really. Doesn't come under Cov Council but everyone involved at the council, media etc has always accepted the University as part of the city, particularly when there's any credit to be taken. Pretty hard now to start jumping up and down saying its not in...

    New Stadium Announcement!!!!!!

Getting a say is very different to being the council overseeing the planning application. I know are media, trust etc aren't very supportive of the club but surely if you get to the point where you've got a viable plan supported by the club, EFL, the uni and the council it comes under...

    New Stadium Announcement!!!!!!

Hopefully they'll quickly see they're fighting a losing battle. Pretty sure Maton wouldn't have been expecting the response he got to his tweet.

    New Stadium Announcement!!!!!!

Its quite funny seeing who on social media is annoyed and scrambling at this news and who welcomes it. Sadly you could easily have predicted who would be the ones who seem to not be entirely happy about it.

    New Stadium Announcement!!!!!!

When people talk about the club getting F&B money I don't think they're imagining Fisher popping down to Tesco for some burgers and Sepalla firing the grill up. There's always going to be a catering partner and they aren't going to be doing it for nothing. Might as well have that partner be...

    New Stadium Announcement!!!!!!

The accepted line has been a deal like the one with Tesco is a non starter as retail aren't building / renting units like that these days. Switching in student accommodation for retail blows that argument out of the water. Doubt anyone in Cov would try and make the argument that there isn't a...

    New Stadium Announcement!!!!!!

Another plus, a lot of the dumb rules at the Ricoh are at the insistence of the SAG. Thats run by the council so presumably if we were no longer under Coventry council we'd have different people calling the shots and might not be the only club in the county that needs thousands of empty seats...

    New Stadium Announcement!!!!!!

Looking at the statement they put out it was more down to numbers once it was knockout games and not being able to get enough trained staff in to run it safely. Hopefully with better organisation and police presence we normally see on match days it would be opened up. Plus wouldn't be disturbing...

New signing incoming - Ryan Giles on loan

Surprised at that but trust our management team. They're the ones that have seen him in training so should have a pretty good idea if he fulfils a need.

New Stadium - The pessimist's view...

CBRE were engaged by the club and paid, not partners, and, at least partially did the job they were brought on board to do. IMO that's very different to the University announcing a partnership with the club on a new stadium project.

    New Stadium Announcement!!!!!!

Don't think anyone is expecting land for free but you have to think building on land already owned by a project partner that doesn't come under CCC is a lot easier than the other options.

    New Stadium Announcement!!!!!!

Dirty Duck and Terrance Bar both in the SU. There's a plaza with a big screen in front of the SU, could easily stick a beer tent up on match days. Assume there will also be bars in the Arts Centre when the refurb is finished.

    New Stadium Announcement!!!!!!

And when we're in the Prem and visiting teams are flying in by private jet they can land at Cov Airport. Where are you coming from? The 12X is 19 minutes from Pool Meadow and 12 minutes from the station. The Uni has 29K full time staff and students plus all the staff at the offices and...

If the uni own the land could be University of Warwick Stadium as part of the deal?

    Shamima Begum Not Allowed Back.

That's the important part. Our legal system is reliant on that so if you set the precedent that the government can make people stateless then there's nothing to stop the same applying to anyone else they want to remove citizenship from.

New Stadium - The pessimist's view...

Complete understand any scepticism but I can't see the Uni agreeing to have their name involved without there being something to it. Also doubt its something that's been thrown together quickly, too many people would have to sign off on it before the Uni would be making announcements like this...

    Russia Report

On the one hand you don't want to be alarmist but on the other you look at what's happening here and in the US and wonder where it ends up.

Forum Statement on New Stadium Announcement

Only on this forum could the idea that we "must not put the long term future of the club at risk" be something to argue about.

    New Stadium Announcement!!!!!!

Good news. Obviously remain highly sceptical but I can't really see why the Uni would get involved if it was just bluster from SISU. With the exception of the city centre / Butts, which would take a miracle, this is the best location we could hope for. Presume the plan, should we get that far...
